Replacement iDrive Knob from eBay

Was just looking around eBay and I stumbled upon this...

Essentially it's a replacement knob for the CIC/Smaller knobs, converting it to the larger touch knob... without the touch.

It certainly looks like an interesting accessory, I do find the smaller CIC knob a little too small. However at $60-70 for it... not too sure. Also have to take into consideration that it's only available in ceramic so it won't necessarily match with the other switchgear in the cabin.

Anyone want to give it a shot?

I have got a bigger Idrive dial and I want to change my small dial to the newer bigger one but I have no idea how to change it.
Can you help please???

Pull off the surrounding trim. Take out the 3 screws, unclip the connector, do the reverse......job done.

However just switching out the controller from non-touch to touch depends on what KCAN bus your car was built with. Non-touch is KCAN1, Touch is KCAN2. You can't go from 1 to 2 without rewiring the controller directly to the headunit.
