Anybody tracked with Apex 18X10 ET 25?
I need to order track wheels and tires for my incoming M3. Has anybody run these with a square setup on track with 275/35/18's? Any spacers needed? Any rubbing? How is the balance and grip?
Thanks! Last edited by Electron mike; 03-31-2015 at 09:35 AM.. |

through my searches it seems like this is a pretty popular fitment and generally doesn't require spacers ... I don't know how feel/traction is but 275s seem like a sweet spot as a square setup. I ordered 18x10et33 because IMO the et25 is too aggressive looking. I'll be running a 10mm spacer up front & nothing in the back.
are you looking for a track only setup or dual duty?

That is what I ordered. If you do order, ensure you order the EC-7, as they are the only 18" Apex that will fit over the iron rotors. With ET25, you will not need any spacers. Front should be a perfect fit with the rears sticking out a little (equates to 15mm spacers). The ET33 combined with 5-10mm spacers in front is also an interesting option. The reason I went with the ET25 is mostly because they were not offered as part of the group buy. Further, I prefer avoiding the hassle of spacers.

Thanks for the feedback! I wussed out and went with similar to factory size and offset..HREs in 19" with Michelin Cup 2s in factory sizes for track duty. I can always try a 265/295 19" hoosier r6 setup as well.

I don't think many would consider going HRE wheels with Cup 2's as "wussing out." That will be a great set up, I'm sure.

Now if I can just find some RS29 pads in stock somewhere I'm set! Everybody is out so I might have to go with carbotech. |

Reviving this thread a bit.. I'm looking to move to a square setup to try to reduce some of the understeer and prolong tire life on the track.
CanAutM3 - any pictures with your 18x10 ET25 setup? Any issues with rubbing on track? I'd prefer to go without spacers if possible. Thanks! |

Very happy with the 18x10ET25 setup thus far. No rubbing at all. As expected, the front is a perfect fit and the rear is a little more aggresive, but still fits very well. I am waiting for Apex to release an 18x11 wheel with a more suitable offset for the F8X so I can buy a pair and fit 305/35 in the rear. Here's the only pic I have available right now:

I run the 18x10 et25 with 285's square, I had to put a 5 mm spacer upfront to clear coilover spring perch, I also run -3.5 deg camber upfront. No rubbing issues. I personally believe you could go 295s square without any rubbing on that set up on oem suspension. I also had no rubbing issues when I had oem suspension
