Jaguar XE SVR

Anyone keeping an eye on the new Jag XE SVR that's due in 2016.

Very very good looking car, and if it sounds like an F Type R it will be pretty enticing...

Fair enough. More than likely won't be as sharp as the m2 or for that matter an f80.

Moving on...

Considering that the XE is 3 series competitor, I don't anybody on the 2 series forum is really keeping up. Now, I do think that the XE will be an interesting car in this segment---would also like to see what the new Q60/50 will look like and now the new TT V6 will sound and how much hp and torque.

Fist, the XE is not an SVR competitor, second as the next generation 1 Series and 2 Series goes FWD, and only FWD-based AWD for "M1" and M2 of next generation, it is on the Alfa Romeo Giulietta successor that one has to keep an eye, as it will be the only RWD car in the compact hatch segment. Of course it is far away, first will come the Giulia, so keeping an eye on Giulia QV, the M3 competitor.

What do you mean not an SVR competitor?? That's what the performance XE is going to be called. That or an XE R. Agreed that it's not a 2 competitor, but it's a good looking car...

My bad. XE SVR is not an M2 competitor. It is M3 competitor.

I hope that at least for 2 series Coupe and 'Vert they will keep RWD.
1 series will not be so interesting, with the stupid FWD route!
M3 will receive a facelift and a Comp Pack so will be attractive enough.

Yet, if someone gifted you a Aston Martin Vantage or Vanquish would you take it?
Because the V8s and V12s from what I understand are Ford designed. The V12 first started life as two Duratech V6s put together. And they are still made in a Ford factory in Europe...please correct me if I am wrong?
The first gen XF used the Ford DEW98 chassis which underpinned the Jag S type/Lincoln LS/Ford Thunderbird.
