Kinivo BTC455/450 - Bluetooth/iPhone Question
Hello everyone, to all whom of which know what I'm talking about, the Kinivo BTC450/455 is a little device that plugs into both your underarm rest 12v AC adapter and the Aux port. This allows you to have a clean setup with no wires and without having to use an Aux cord to play your music. Your music is played via bluetooth audio stream and it honestly sounds the exact same as when I use an Aux cord (and I can be pretty anal about my audio quality). You simply get in, start your car and your phone will automatically connect to the device.
It works very well, however it seems to also interfere with my iDrives bluetooth, as in I believe the Kinivo is trying to override BMW's iDrive. I notice this because people that I usually have conversations with recently have told me that I sound very faint to them, so I'm assuming my car is trying to use the Kinivo mic? Yet before using the Kinivo I apparently talked, while using iDrive bluetooth connection, as if my phone were next to my face in a regular handheld conversation. I can still answer with iDrive, but soon after I started using the device, people have told me that they can't really hear me unless I really speak up. I tried searching bluetooth profiles and how to only make my iPhone 6's bluetooth stream only media to the Kinivo, but nothing comes up for me in that regard--both on here and on google. I know Android has the option to make it so that the phone specifically outputs only certain information to both the aftermarket device and the iDrive, but on iOS I'm not having such luck. Can anyone that owns this little device and has an iPhone lend some assistance? Thank you. Edit: For those interested in what I'm talking about, link: http://www.kinivo.com/Kinivo-BTC455-...&searchSize=12 Make sure you buy it new! And buy from their site, as that where it appears to be cheapest, as it's cheaper than Amazon (at least their new model is anyway). I bought a used one from Amazon trying to save a few bucks and it wouldn't connect automatically--I knew something was wrong with it. So I returned it to Amazon, received the refund, ordered from Kinivo's site (new) and it works wonderfully! Last edited by YouAreMyWorld; 03-25-2015 at 06:30 PM.. |

Correct me if I'm wrong, but for the Tune2Air to work as designed you have to have a USB port. Something not all of us have.
