I'm looking into buying a 335i sedan(1st pic) and I'm wondering what all I would need to change to have the full kidney grills like the 2nd pic

that looks like an pre-LCI (07 or 08) and you are comparing it to an LCI (09-11). If so and you want it to look like that you would need an LCI front bumper, new grills, new headlights and hood. If you just want a black grill, you can just buy a black grill, ~$50.

I believe the headlights are the same. I know the first pic the car is a 08 335i sedan. And I believe the 2nd is a 09 I know it is a lci 335i sedan. I am trying to figure out how much it would cost me to change the front to see if it's worth it.

When you say front, are you only talking about the kidney grills or the entire front bumper? It makes a big difference as others have posted. If you just want black kidney grills, you can buy them pretty cheap or even just plastidip them.

If you want that particular kidney grill, you'll need a new hood, bumper, fogs, brake air ducts, wheel well liner, and the belly pan extension piece. The headlight shape is the same so you can keep your stock headlights if you so choose. And to be specific, the front bumper is the lci performance one. The price of this conversion can vary greatly depending on if you source new parts, used parts, and if you need to get anything painted. Either way, it's a pricey process.
