ACS springs V's Speed bumps etc.

Still considering getting the springs fitting to my SUV

Can I ask those of you with the springs fitted to your Xdrives, have you had any issue with catching the underneath of the car on speed bumps or similar?

Have any of you had to change your driving style at all since fitting?
(apart from braking less for corners!)

With the square speed humps in the middle of the lane that you can straddle with wheels either side of the hump, would this change to having to drive one side of the car over the top of the hump?

Lots of speed bumps everywhere, I get sick of em.

Many thanks

No issues whatsoever. I've never caught it scraped any part of the car on speed bumps, up ramps, down ramps...

I like this, hence my concern over the front splitter

The springs dont lower the car that much!!!!

After lowering, its prob only as low as a standard sdrive, maybe a tad lower, but not that much.

I was behind a mineral grey 435D (same as mine) last night as it pulled out of Atlantic Street in Altrincham (Hello if that was you!) and was horrified when I saw the way it was sitting on it's wheels as it pulled out of the junction, the wheel arch gaps looked really awful, like it was floating or a barge on wheels etc.

So I'd convinced myself I didn't need the springs handling wise as it's not that bad with adaptive in sport, and decided just to swap RFT's to the Michelin PSS instead, but seeing that convinced me to do the springs too so long as no issue with the ground clearance!

Thanks Peeps.

I was going to go for Christopher Jackson in Alderley Edge as is easier for me to arrange a lift to work from here, otherwise it's Halliwell jones in Chester as they are a performance centre. Sure that HJ in warrington could do it though but Lorcan would let you know.

I'll certainly ask them if they will discount for 2 when I ring them.

Make sure you dont pay more than £650 for the whole job.
And make sure a) the price includes the KDS adjustment and b) if you have xenons that they re-align them.

I just spoke to Chris from Christopher Jackson, they wouldn't do a discount for 2 cars unfortunately.

They charge £75/hour plus Vat with 4 hours for the job - plus parts which you can get the prices off ACS website.

Yes make sure this work is included in the price. If this is not done then your lights will blind others on the road and you'll keep getting flashed!

At least on the Swiss AC SChnitzer website you can download the full fitting instructions (German, English) that explain step-wise what is done, how long it requires and what should be done (KDS, re-calibrating your levelling on the lights - page 24).

http://preisliste.ac-schnitzer.de/ac...3130232310.pdf

Starting Page 14 in English.
