With a little heat it can be managed, most vinyls are petroleum based so with some heat they become very malleable. I use to work at a sign shop back in the day and have a few vehicle wraps under my belt, so it wasn't too difficult.

I agree with you 100% the wood grain is hideous, I went the same route as you about a week after I bought my car lol!
