Extended Warranties. Are they needed?
As I will most likely keep my E90 for some time, the thought about whether I should get an extended warranty sticks in my head. Here in Canada, I was quoted for a 6 year/140km Ultimate plan, CA$2,390/$100 deductible or CA$2,140/$200 deductible. The dealer deals with Coverage One.
I had thought BMW Canada would have their own extended warranty plan. Unless of course, the price is way too high when compared to the third party providers. Anyway, what's everyone's thoughts on this? Thanks team. |

Hard to say re Canadian market, but here in BMW NA land, BMW NA just reintroduced the extended warranty in the last 18 mos. or so.
This is a similar warranty to the CPO offering btw. I don't know whether BMW Canada has a CPO program but you could use that as a guideline. U.S. third party pricing is usually less expensive than BMW's, and on paper looks like better coverage. But there have also been instances of insurerers going out of business in a big way so be wary also.
