which tyres

Hi all,

Due to limited finances, i have decided to keep the MSport 18 inch wheels.

Now as I do 20k/yr I want to get some decent rubber on these that won't wear too quickly but have good all round performance.. as I do like welsh road blats from time to time... though rare at the moment.

So firstly, shall I just get 2 new RFTs on the back (the ones that need changing) or shall i get 4 new non-RFTs?

And for either which tyres would you recommend?

I assume that the air pressure in non-RFTs will also be much less... any ideas on the 18"?

Thanks,

Inaam

I've done 22k and still got plenty of tread on my Michelin pilot sports. That includes 4 laps of the Nurburgring! They are slightly more expensive than other brands but last for ages. I will definitely buy Michelins again.

HMI,

A good place for tyres is:

http://www.event-tyres.co.uk/

they will come to you and fit and balance, at work or at home.

Yes mine are RFTs. Search the UK threads as there are quite a few suggestions of where to buy RFTs. I have not bought any yet

Simple, quality of the rubber. Michelins are known for lasting much much longer than other brands. What rubber do you use?

Oh yes and because of my "pipe and slippers" driving style...

I got 25,000 miles out of my rear tyres. The fronts would have done another 5000 miles.

Yours wear out faster because you drive like a hooligan

and you probably don't check the pressures

Paul, It's like waving a sign in front of me saying 'Take the p**s please, Viv'.
