iPhone 6 and iPhone 6+ Snap-In Adapter

Looks like we'll be getting the new adapters for the i6 and i6+ before too long.

Looks like BMW moved to a more generic design to allow for any lightning equipped model of iPhone to be used with the snap-in so it'll work with 5, 5s, 5c, 6 and 6+

Part Number is 84212365786 and is currently only available in Germany at the moment.

How would that work? My 6 plus barely fits in the center console as is.

Moreover, all the past snap in adapters overheated my iPhones- worthless.

I just use the USB cable.

Pointless IMO. Just stream via Bluetooth. Battery on the 6/6+ lasts quite a while anyway.

I dunno, it's kinda hazy. Some documentation says no. Other documentation says yes.

Like http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=758492 seems to indicate yes. Unless it's talking about the NBT strictly. Luckily I still have an old iPhone 4s I can use if I want video that badly.

This thing has a cooling fan for the phone.
Looks like they addressed the overhearing problem.

Exactly. Mine setup for AirPlay (video and audio), but the same thing. Why these cradles are stupid:
- Most likely have to remove the phone from its case. Who wants to do that every time they get in their car?

- Who wants to open their center console to put the phone in? Guaranteed you will forget your phone there multiple times (in a week).

- No access to your phone when driving

Mine just sits sideways in the ashtray area - fits perfectly, never falls out (even in very hard cornering/accelerating) and I can see it. Because it is right there I never forget it. No cords to deal with either. Oddly enough, putting it there costs $0.00

What is the purpose of putting an iPhone in one of these connectors? Is it to do with the bmw connected online stuff?
