New 420i GC On Order

Hello everyone, another newbie here so please be gentle.

I had a 320i over 20 years ago which I still rate as the best car I ever owned. Sadly work and family meant that it had to go. However, I have just retired and have a wodge of cash from my pension pot to spend which is going on a new car. I have been lurking on here for about a week and would like to thank you for Riaz’s contact details. He has been a star and I managed to get £5K off list which beat the best that Broadspeed could do (£2K) and a very good deal on my PX so one very happy bunny.

Anyway the spec:

BMW 420i X-drive Luxury Gran Coupe automatic in imperial blue
Adaptive Headlights
Adaptive M Sport suspension
Comfort access
Lumbar support - driver and front passenger
Mirrors - power fold, auto dim
Reversing assist camera
Seat Adjustment - front, electric with driver memory
Delete model designation
Seats - Dakota black leather
Trim inlays - burr walnut wood with inlay with pearl chrome finishers

I have been given 15 May 15 as the expected delivery date so just a couple of months to wait!

Welcome to the forum and you'll no doubt love the car when it finally arrives!

Glad that Riaz had managed to help so many on here, I might get two umbrellas now

Welcome. I do like the 4GC, I'm sure you'll love it. The wait will be painful, but worth it.

I picked up my new 320i M-Sport on Saturday. Hardly slept on Friday night

Congratulations on your new one. Looks like you've raided the options list!

I've had my 428 GC for two months, Its my 3rd BMW and by far favourite. Your specs look great, I dropped a few items to move up to the 428 and it brings a smile to my face every time I drive it. I'm sure you will be chuffed when you get being the wheel. I also looked at the Luxury version as it the only version you can get the lighter colour interior, however after much deliberation went for the Msport version. Get some picture up when you get it.

I always wondered why one would opt for Reversing Camera? Isn't it more distracting as I'm assuming you have to look at your rear/side mirrors as well as the iDrive Screen? With the standard PDC, I just listen to the beeps.

I didn't include the camera originally as my wife has one on her Honda CRV and we rarely look at it. However, after driving a 430 with a camera and seeing the quality of it along with the grid lines that assist with parking, I immediately called the dealer to make the amendment.

My workplace has a very tight underground car park and I have a very long and leafy driveway. The camera will help me where the parking sensors fail to differentiate between bricks and leaves.

Not crucial but very useful!
