All, So I am trying to find an exact part number to repair the e90 LCI headlight tab repair kit. I see some posting for part #63117182519 but it does not look like is what I need. The headlights have 2 holes under the tab. But this part pics show a single hole. Any idea where to find the part number? I did search through the getbmwparts for my year and it does not show anything.
Thanks in advance. UPDATE (3/23/2015): I bought the correct part finally which is a direct fit. Below is the link to the prts (Part #11): http://parts.bmwofbridgewater.com/sh...sembly=63_0917 Just remember to get the inner or outer tab as they are different. If the headlight has at least one similar tab that's good, you can use something called plastex to recreate the missing tab. You heat the mold to soften it, place it firmly on the good tab, wait for the mold to cool and form, then place the mold on the missing one, and pour the plastic dust and chemical solvent to form the plastic.

Logically it would make sense they have a repair kit for all models. Still havent found anything useful yet. Lets see. getbmwparts.com is really lame. They never return emails.

Evo, I wish you were right. Those are the clips that go on the end of the tabs. Still no source for a repair kit for e90 broken tabs.

You are spot on. I did order the part #5 from getbmwpart and it does not fit the LCI headlights (now I have to freaking take a 15% restocking fee and also pay for return shipping). The part states it is for ZKW headlights. So I guess it was meant for xenon headlights instead.

I found another part for the Valeo headlights on this page: http://parts.bmwofbridgewater.com/sh...sembly=63_0917 Not sure if this would fit out model Last edited by e90bmw328i; 03-19-2015 at 12:19 AM.. |

Yes. Thats the correct part to replace broken LCI headlights tabs. I did install this on the car and made sure it fits.
http://parts.bmwofbridgewater.com/sh...sembly=63_0917 Above link, you can lookup the correct tab for inner or outer for left and right lights. I bought it from FCP as their shipping was lot lower and also no tax. |

Ok what an ordeal to find the right part eh? I don't think there is another thread on the site that has done this yet. Nice job.
They really got ya by the short hairs on this don't they... ~$40 for 5 cents of sheet metal with some simple cuts and bends. SOB's. |
