Hi all

I have a 4GC on order which was due to be delivered early March and have just been told by the dealership that it has now been delayed to end March/early April. They have blamed it on GC's immense popularity but I'm not buying it. The car has been on order since mid December which is already a significant delay.

I wanted to check whether anyone else has a 4GC on order and have heard similar? Alternatively has anyone ordered a GC since mid December and has already taken delivery? I know that some of the 3ers were delivered early but I've been told that the 3 and 4 have completely separate production lines.

Sounds like drivel. If there's a build slot, there's a build slot. Ordering others (through alleged popularity) simply pushes out new orders to later build slots.

Do you exactly when your dealership confirmed the build slot.

As in did they say that had submitted your order when they may have held back in case you updated your order etc?

Is there anything in your order that may have kicked it out? Individual leather etc?

Ordered mine at the beginning of February (through Riaz who knocks around this forum), car has been built and is waiting transportation and should be ready 3rd week in March.

Yes mine has been delayed and there are two reason.

1. The new 190bhp 2.0d engine is to be fitted from the 1st march. Cars due at the end of February for built were held back for this reason.

2. BMW at the start of the year tried to boost sales of the GC with a number of leasing deals (many quoted on here). They proved very popular and therefore there is a bit of a supply v demand issue at the moment.

Ordered mine mid January, started build 3 days ago and due into dealership end of the month (maybe a week sooner)

Thanks guys. Mine is a lease car so am worried the dealership is prioritising build slots for personal purchases. I have repeatedly asked what the build slot is but my contact keeps telling me it's due to go into production without telling me the date. I think I need to go see him tomorrow.

Turns out the car has already been built and at the docks in Germany awaiting transport so all of our cars may be coming on the same ship!

Apparently BMW have been struggling with getting them transported in time. Have now been given 27 March as the pick up date.

Takes longer to transport than it does to be built. Go figure!

mine went into production last week but my original delivery date is 20th April

I ordered a 430D Gran Coupe here in Germany on 7th March. Been told:
Build: week 19
Delivery Week 20 or 21 if I want delivery at BMW Welt in Munich
