Spoiler adhesive removal

Anybody have some good tips on removing the excess tape from the trunk a little less annoying? Should I use something like goo gone?

Let me know your experiences!

Goo Gone works. You can use a heat gun or a blow dryer to heat it up, making much easier to remove. Be careful not to heat too much or you may melt the paint.

I found it easier to remove it by the push method and do not heat it up...then is smears. You follow with goo gone

I described how to do this in another post. Yes, rolling it is the best way by far. Get it started and it comes off in big sections. Avoid solvents or Goo Gone until the very last clean up...which will be very little.

i used a hair dryer to heat it up, then do the rolling it as someone else said. i also use the parts removed that pat down other sections and it pulls it right off.

I used a minimal amount of goo gone on a microfiber towel at the very end, to clean up and small areas, mostly the outline it leaves behind.

if its taking more than 30-40 min, you're doing something wrong

Man this tape is no joke, takes so much effort to get leverage and start rolling. And when you start rolling some of the tape, it won't cleanly pickup all the adhesive so you have to keep going back and push the tape off.

those areas that don't come off cleanly, heat them up and then use what you have already rolled, it should still be really sticky, then just apply a little pressure and they'll come off pretty easily. thats how i did mine, worked out nicely

Goo Gone didn't work for me when it was a bit cold outside, ended up buying Turtle Wax sticker remover and it worked so good and my spoiler tape was off in 5 minutes.

Alright... after a long and stressful process I've found that using heat DEFINITELY helps when removing the tape. The potential smearing that could occur could be removed with googone and some elbow grease. So I would say 80-90% should be rubbed off and the remainder with googone and a mf. Also I HIGHLY recommend using a plastic razor blade to get some of the stubborn glue (https://scraperite.com/).

That is all... my thumbs are killing me with a fat blister on eat thumb.

EDIT:
One more thing, roll the tape to its side if that makes sense. Rub towards the center of the car because if you do it the other way you're fighting more tape.

I used this, 5 minutes no chemicals, it didn't damage the paint which I thought it might. Just keep the speed low and not use too much pressure let the wheel do the work.

No other suggestions over what others have already suggested here but I feel your pain. You wanna know PITA? Try removing those super thin metallic decals put on by dealerships that were designed to stay on: disintegrates when any attempt is made to fingernail it off, impervious to heat guns, literally takes hours to slowly take it off bit by bit. I get mad all over again just thinking about it

Ouch...
This is why I always ask dealers why they think it's ok to drill holes and put decals especially after someone buys the car.

3m adhesive remover works great. For the most sticky residue, I would use eraser wheel.
