Thieving Scum

This is what some b4st4rds did to get at my car! Took them about 20 mins before they were interrupted. They were only interested in the car and left everything in the garage untouched - bikes, golf clubs, power tools etc.

It was a couple of months back now and courtesy of our house insurance I've got a new, secure roller door. So if you want to try again Scum, bring it on!

I should add that they didn't get it.

I take it that they may have seen your car parked out of garage sometime and returned back?

It's a 2010 330D. No one was home at the time, my son was the last to leave the house at about 5:30pm. Then a neighbour came home just before 6 and saw the garage like that that. I've had the car about a year and generally work from home so they must have seem me at some time leaving or coming home. I was in Jamaica at the time but don't think they could have known that.

It still amazes me how some people do not have house / garage alarms ?? , anyway, glad they didn't get to take your pride and joy.

Erm, I have one that covers the garage as well but it didn't put them off or stop them.

Glad they were not able to get to the car. When I was attending law school, my 99 Civic Si was stolen. It was parked in the driveway and I was sleeping just a few feet away. I had a good quality aftermarket alarm in it with tilt switches etc. but they must have known how to disable the alarm system. Police found the car a few weeks later, stripped to the frame. I almost cried when I saw what was left of the car. May the bastards rot in hell!

Sorry to hear...I was hoping as the E9X cars get older the thieves will move on to the F3X cars. I was even going to stop using my Dislok...But to break into a locked garage, someone must have wanted it badly

Hope you get the damage to the garage sorted, I notice your in Leicestershire...Again I thought most of the gangs were operating in London/Birmingham...Oh well better keep using the steering lock on the car

OP, sorry to see that.

There are equipment out for Fx series as well however it is bloody expensive and hence these scums are waiting for the prices to go down. I reckon only big groups would but one of those devices.

Kits for E9x are getting cheaper and hence people are stealing it.

I keep an eye on ebay and most of stripped cars are around Birmingham and Manchester these day. Very few breakers on London side these days and perhaps London police is making things tighter.

I was going to say that's unbelievable for 5.30pm but i'm guessing not by the fact that you've posted it. They must have had some quiet time to operate and known that. Either that or they must really not care about getting caught in the act. Glad your son didn't come across them.

Glad the garage held strong and you've got it sorted through your insurance.

Thanks. I live towards the end of a cul-de-sac and the road is really quiet so apart from the alarm and security lights going off no-one would really have reacted. To be honest they did me a bit of a favour as I managed to upgrade the garage door and get a really good, secure roller door (similar to those in the front of shops) for the cost of my insurance excess plus about £100. Far, far cheaper than if I had replaced it myself.
