Exclamation Coding to capture the Front/Rear/Sideview cameras?

There are cameras all over this car, including rearview, sideview mirror cameras, and I believe a camera on the front to direct the LED package.

Is there any way to tap into this feed and record it? Maybe something for the vendors to figure out. Why put an ugly dashcam up when there's already a camera there?

Techies, help me out!

Good question - and one I haven't seen asked as yet...

I was checking the Blackvue camera a minute ago. It will be cool if this is possible.

I asked this question about three years ago on several other forums. My X5 has all the cameras and a hard drive for music that never gets used. It would be nice if we could just record from the OE cameras to the HD.

Let me know if you get the blackview. I was looking at them also but the way they wire in and monitor the battery for draws then cut the camera power when left parked makes me a bit nervous. In my experience this car is very sensitive to battery draws.

Were you planning on only using it when driving or also in the parking modes?

Well with our vehicle (perhaps not the X5 etc) the camera angles are not in terrific positions. And depending on how low you are, I can can hardly see over the bumper of many vehicles with the rearview camera. Not certain about the front.
