What not to do in Coding???

Hey Guys,

I just kinda got a crash course in this and doing pretty well. One thing I haven't seen on these forums is what we should not and Never do to the coding in these things... lets call this "How to Code for Dummy's "

I'll start one:

I know(was told to) to never click on "CODE DEFAULT VALUES"

If you activate the MEMORY_OFF in IHKA-3002 for your A/C to remember the las On/off position from previous shut down. Once coded, your A/C will turn on and you won't be able to turn it off for about 5-10 minutes and your A/C light will flash... This is normal. At first I had a heart attack thinking I broke something lol.

OTHERS?

ALSO - If you make a mistake in coding... what's the proper steps to revert back to factory using your saved FA or SVT?

Thanks

Don't try to copy your file to another car. Very rare that everything lines up perfectly.

you can VO Code the ECU which will wipe out all FDL coding you did in that ECU.

I'm not 100% sure but It's not good at all but I have done it once and fixed it. It's just a lot of crap to fix it and I may have just gotten lucky that there was no permanent damage.

nothing good. the version coding for the module you've defaulted gets all whacked up and if you don't have proper backups... bad juju. supposedly it can be unrecoverable depending on how/where it happens. you aren't one of those people that has to push the red button when someone has told you not to, are you?
