CCC cooling fan keeps spinning?

HI guys.

Yesterday, i noticed that i can now hear the cooling fan on my CCC idrive spinning when i stop the car.

ive never heard this before yesterday!

when i stop the car, key out, you can hear the cooling fan stay on. it comes on and off a few times and then seems to stop. it probably lasts about 20 seconds after stopping the car.

naturally, i assume this means that the unit is getting hot!

Ive had a quick look on google, and the history of CCC drives going bad seems to be fairly comprehensive!

he unit has failed to read the nav dvd possibly 2 or 3 times in the last 8 months.

now.... is it common to hear the fan after stopping the car? or am i seeing the first stage of something failing?

Ive read that the fans can fail, and they can be replaced.... but its spinning still?

any ideas, help or brain farts?

Thanks!

Are you using BMW or copied DVDs? The quality of the DVDs could cause this.
