Where's the diesel fuel filter???

So the time has come again for an oil change and being that my fuel filter was suppose to be done, I brought it up to my advisor. Same 'ol, same 'ol... He says that the fuel filter and air filter are conditioned based driving and are not due to be changed according to the computer. I point out that the manual states every 2nd oil change the air and fuel filter are to be changed. They say no, it's conditioned driving based. So I move on to the brakes - at about 28635 miles, the key data read out said to replace the rears in 2500 miles - condition based right. I had to go in a month later for some work and dealer had to reset vehicle CBS for incorrect brake info. I then had to go in 2 months later for a check engine light and dealer recommended new rear brakes. I asked them if it was okay to wait for my next service as it was due soon. They said, no problem. So I go in 4 months later for my service and they say brakes are fine and they had to once again reset the CBS info for the brakes. So I am now about 1,000 miles past the original time when when the CBS said I would need new brakes. So I guess the fuel and air filter is conditioned based, contrary to what is stated on pg. 9 of the service book and the brakes are not.

Just to have someone to ask for a second opinion, I decided to call one of the technical service advisors on the BMW CCA site and run it by them. The 1st guy I talked to told me my car has no diesel fuel filter and wanted to know where I got that in info from. The second advisor and the 3rd said that they have no experience with diesels and could not confirm whether it had one or not.

I think it does. I think it does. I think it does. Right???? Where is it located - can anyone tell me? Wonder why they didn't know.

Didn't even go into the brake detail too much after that. I'll just wait until the little red light comes on.

Its about under where you sit underneath the car. Maybe like where your feet are but all the way to the left. You have to cut off a permanent hoseclamp and replace it with one that is normal. Its silver long and skinny. Like 8" long and 2" diameter. You can get it at Rockauto.

Thanks for the help - that's what I thought but I was WAY confused when the Technical Advisor from BMW CCA told me that my car has no fuel filter - hope he doesn't own a shop.
