I Hate Cooper Croydon!

So my car had to go back to a main dealer for some warranty work again.
its only got a faulty comfort access handle (which the had already replaced last year).
Unfortunately Cooper Croydon is my local main dealer. The car went in on Monday evening and they haven't even looked at it yet! I know that they won't have the item in stock as the last time it was special order from Germany.
Initially they said there might be a delay with diagnostics and today they've said that their diagnostic system was broken. Its the same excuse that they used before when they had the car and let it sit there for 2-3 days before they looked at it. I get the impression its the standard excuse they give to customers when they book too many cars in. Last time they made this excuse they finally admitted that they booked in more cars than they could do do make sure that they had a steady supply and none of the ramps are left empty.
So as long as the dealers OK who cares about the customer with no car eh?
So it now looks it'll be day 3 before they even start to look at it and tell me that they need to order the part again. This place is a joke. I can't believe how bad their customer service is and its been this way since I started going there when I got the car almost 2 years ago.
I get better service from my local Indy that charges £120 per hour less than Cooper Croydon and work out of a back street garage. Its just a shame I can't get warranty work done there.

Feel your pain mate. Dealers know that they will get cars and hence customer services is poor.

Cooper Thames Ditton is a 20 minute walk from here. BMW Nine Elms is a 40 minute drive (if I set off at 6.30am)

Guess where I take my car.....

Garage List
2004 BMW M3  [0.00]
2009 BMW 325  [0.00]
I think i posted about them before. Their staff know nothing. They all talk shit. They kept a car for 1 week then said they changed a turbo but still made the whining noise with new turbo. Booked it else where 2 weeks later and they actually did change the turbo and fixed the issue.

Cooper Cobham had my car for 3 1/2 weeks over last Christmas and NY holidays and into mid Jan. Totally useless communications and didn't do anything until I pushed them to. Got my car back with 1/2 the boot panels still left knocking around the boot too. Tossers totally ruined my Christmas holidays as I had no transport. Cock suckers.

I can't believe that BMW Uk don't give them a rollicking for their poor customer service.
It would surprise me if Coopers is one of the main reason BMW have been voted 21st in their customer service according to Auto Express. I didn't even know that there were 21 manufacturers, they must be right at the bottom ... How bad is that?
They were voted at number 5 though for reliability so I guess at least the cars won't have to go back that often.

I had similar issues with Cooper York. Lies and deceit from the outset.
In the end I demanded my car back.

Coopers Reading are just as bad, had a very poor experience with them & my E46 a few years ago. They knew absolutely fvck all about SSG gearboxes and delayed looking at the car despite it being dropped off early and knowing i needed it it back desperately.

I didn't enjoy a Coopers 'experience' at all. My cars go to Vines at Guildford who have been really excellent over the last 5 years for me.

Vines are not part of a large group - just the 3 branches and I think that makes the difference.

I think one should send a link of this thread to BMW UK.

The final kick in the teeth is that, having been there just once (never to be repeated following the awful service I got) I now get bombarded with texts and emails from Coopers trying to flog me stuff. Even worse, I tried to opt out of the texts with the STOP as detailed at the end of the text and the fuckers charged me a £1.50 premium rate text !!

Had some sales bloke from Coopers call me the other night too, poor bastard - I tore him a new one !! LOL!!!

Avoid Cooper Croydon BMW.

Whilst my car was in the garage, a work colleague told me she spotted my car being driven around with a pretty blonde in the passenger seat. I queried this with the service department who advised 'car may have been taken home by senior service engineers whom may also have had their partner in the car to monitor the car using diagnostic machine.

Total bullsh!t of course. I would install a discreet dash cam before giving your car to these cowboys.

Yeah coopers is my local too. They also over price cars. They tried to sellme a 320i 09 with nothing for 15k vs dick lovett in bristol where I got a newer 325i fully loaded for less. OP use the one in bromley they are infinitely better. The limit for me was when I got my mot done at coopers drove home and my car was smoking! That was new lol.
