I'd imagine $29,995.

Would that be the same price as current gen x1?

Seems like it. Do you expect a change? Mini is below and will have a version of the same UKL chassis, so it's not going to be cheaper.

The new X1 is basically a 2series active tourer, but with different body panel.

Same UKL platform, same engine packages, 95% the same interior, so prices should be about the same as this one. I expect BMW to be marketing the X1 as a slightly more expensive car without any particular reason besides to avoid cannibalism. So in between the 2 series active tourer and the X3.

Based on what I see on the BMW (germany), it seems like the price difference gap between 2-active tourer and x3 is quite high.

Really interested to see how the pricing for the new x1 will play out. Not to mention that bmw always play around with the expensive add-ons/packages.

That would be awesome, but the base price for a current-gen E84 RWD X1 is $31K USD, and I doubt the price for the next X1 will actually go down.

Also, the F48 with 2-wheel drive is driven by the front wheels, and nobody in this forum should be buying a front wheel drive car. So that means for everyone here the new X1 will probably match or exceed the $33K starting price of the current X1 xDrive28i.

Production starts in July for the xDrive F48, fingers crossed that the pricing leaks out sooner than that.

Great points. Just keep in mind that the E84 used an E91 chassis while the F48 is using the next Countryman chassis. Further Haldex is generally cheaper to implement than the Torsen RWD setup.

This will also be the first fwd based BMW for the U.S., I expect an AWD F48 to be right around $30k with no options and no delivery cost.

I am surprised they haven't revealed the car entirely, except for couple of spy shots here and there. We are just 5 months away from production....

Agreed. I'd assume Geneva in Mid April for the X1 and Countryman. Our current X1 is just a little tight with the rear facing kid seat in the middle and my 6'2" self, so a little more room wild be nice.

Yup, a Geneva reveal seems to be the most likely suspect. Looking forward to seeing it without all the swirls.

Maybe our US friends don't believe me, but a nicely equipped X1 with xDrive and automatic together with the new 2 ltr turbo gasoline engine will probably set me be back close to a $ 100' grand... Glad you don't live here?

Just start pounding Aquavit and it will all seem okay. How much is your VAT?

That could be. But I've read elsewhere that the F48 goes into production in July-August. Wouldn't BMW want to show it off before they start rolling off the production line? Just wondering.

Yikes! Sorry to hear that. It's easy to forget we're a little spoiled in the USA with all the different car brands and no VAT.

Also, cheap gas compared to most of Europe (USA national average currently $2.25/gallon or 0,53€/l).

Yeah, things are really different around the globe. We pay import tax depending on car weight, horse power, co2, nox, and then 25 % VAT on top of all that. Aquavit is needed, that's for sure. But heck, gotta just live with it.

Regarding the launch, I am very excited about the second generation. Especially the new hybrid version.

Due to tax reduction on PHEV versions like this, even with AWD thanks to std engine on fronts and electrical on rears, it will have the same price as the basic starting model with front wheel drive only.
Really looking forward to this one.
