12v power tied to ignition?

I recently bought an LCI e90, and I noted w some surprise that the 12v in the armrest doesn't have power when the car is not running. My e39s 12v power plugs always were live whether the car was off or on, and was even live with no key in.

I was thinking of adding the two plugs on the back of the armrest, is there any way to set them up do they are live without the car being on?

Run Them To The Fuse Box Behind The Glove. Just Use A Tester/multi Meter To Find An Empty Slot In The Fuse Box Thats "on" Constantly Until The Car Sleeps.

I Was Looking For The Reverse, As I Needed A Source That Would Go Off With The Ign. But Came Across Several Constantly Live Slots Untill I Found The One I Wanted.

E39 was the last BMW to do this I believe. Just helps with things not draining the battery.

I somehow always seem to have a low-battery mobile, and I used to be able to leave it in the car for a bit whilst I was running an errand, and have it charge. I never used anything with enough draw in there that would have caused the battery to drain. Was that an issue?

Something like a cool box on holiday can easily kill a battery in under 30 mins. Or leaving something drawing over night, no power in the morning etc.
