Tried to order a X5M in NJ but getting........

the run around and price gouged. So $3,000 discount is the max they are giving? My 2015 X5 M Sport which I paid $73,000 out the door, the trade in value is now $59,000 with 5,600 miles? Crazy! That $73,000 does not include the BMW Big Brake Kit, BMW Carbon Fiber Kit, BMW 21" 599m Wheels and Tires, nor the Xpel Full Wrap! CRAZY!
I may just hold on to it and get something else to speed around in. Yes, I'm sure I could sell myself and make a little more profit, but waiting for it and the small discount is turning me off.

Joe

Trade-ins almost never take in to account the value of any installed accessories. It's just the nature of the business, unfortunately.

When I ordered my F10 M5 I considered a dealer trade on my F10 550, which at the time was a 15-point Stage 4 Dinan car. None of that was considered and I did not proceed. I sold it privately.

I haven't bothered even having a dealer appraise my X5.

+1... What were you honestly expecting? Considering the dealer has to retail the car and make $5-$6K and the vehicle is a one year old used vehicle i don't see how that offer is not reasonable IMO. Aftermarket parts bring $0 on resale. Even if you sell privately i doubt anyone will pay any extra for it.

Cars are not an investment. Never were and never will be. Get over it and enjoy them

Your right, I should sell privately and not think about trading, it would have been the first car in my 45 years I was going to trade in! I was getting lazy and complaining like a b----........

Not true my friend. I have a 1989 Porsche 930 Turbo with 22,000 miles I bought 10 years ago for $60,000. The car today would easily sell for $120,000+! I'm sure my X5 will never do that!

I was thinking of killing two birds with one stone by going to a X5M since my 991 Carrera S is coming off lease and I wanted to go down to two cars instead of 3. I think I'm going to look at a M4 or a RS5 as a 3rd.
Sorry for posting a crappy selfish thread

First you need to sell it, but then again looking at what people buy @ various auction houses and how much they pay for it... oh god. At least I hope you enjoy it in some way.

P.S. To each their own, but it just saddens me when I see classics gathering dust in garages/museums/etc. 99% of the time. Cars should be driven and driven hard (if the specific model is intended for that). Then again, I'm "one of those guys" I.e. another thing I hate most is when someone buys a 458 Speciale (for instance) just to show-off on the beach road, driving 20 km/h.

Armen I hear you, it's all good. I love my X5D, was just expressing my thoughts. As far as driving my classics, oh I do. Summer only, the northeast will kill you. The funny thing is that my body and I bought it as an investment but he ran out of $$$ and needed cash quickly so I bought it off him. As of last year I'm the sole owner now and plan on driving it more.
