New to Houston dealership recommendation SA

Hey guys. I recently moved from Indianapolis to Houston. Warm Weather mainly.

Trying to secure my next M. Any dealership and sales assistant recommendation ?I lived around galleria area.

I was still on the fence about whether I should get a M4 or a model S. But when I walked into the store talk to a rep about tesla model S. He couldn't even discuss price with me also told me he can't help me purchase it which is kind of weird. Probably will get another M after all.

It's state law in TX that the Tesla guys can't discuss price. Sad really.

It's difficult to cross-shop these cars from the standpoint that other than tq/hp, the cars diverge on pretty much everything else. You certainly won't lose the thrill with the M4. Tesla owners who are in it for the driving aspect are beginning to grow bored.

I purchased mine from out of state and had a great experience doing so. I however knew what I wanted and didn't need the comfort of a dealership building to make the decision.

Houston dealers are also less willing to negotiate on purchase price, so it depends on how flexible you are in the buying process. As far as service geos, let's just say that I'll be taking my car to BMW of Austin to get work done since I've experienced both.

I'll agree with Doctor when it comes to the price. They are pretty anal but then again. I know Bmw of Houston North has about 5-6 M4(I think 1 M3). I'm pretty sure they are willing to budge on the price since they have been sitting on them for awhile now. Also, so far i've been having a really good experience with my service advisor there. Tyler Wadsworth is who I tend to talk to. Really big car enthusiast and really patient when it comes to me constantly asking questions and being picky about my car. Haha, I feel bad sometimes but i'm spending alot of money so I think I can be a tad picky . I can't forget about Erik Majors either. Really respectable guy. Those are my two go to guys.

Oops. Forgot to add my Sales assistant. Sarah Abbaszadeh was the person I dealt with. She was really nice and stayed after hours helping me finish everything when I purchased the car on a Saturday

Thanks for that input, I've only dealt with the dealers in town. Can't say much of them really.

That is the thing I am most worried about. I can do away with no dealer or store front. What if without the manual shifting, and glorious engine note. The electric car gets boring after a while. I am fairly sure the M4/m3 won't be a disappointment in this regard.

I am going to check them out. I wanted to do an ED. But if they can offered me a deal I can't refuse, I will take one on the lot. Last time I ordered my E92. I waited quite a bit for it to arrive. But the wait is so worth it.

I bought my car from Midtown BMW and give the whole process a 7.5/10. I did the Euro delivery and my salesman was pretty good with getting back to me and planning the dates. Have taken it to service twice and was pleased with both visits. If you live near the Galleria, that is probably the closest dealership to you. Momentum on 59 and Beltway 8 is also a short drive away.

Welcome to Houston! It will take you a while to figure the city out, but when you do its a good place to live. Just don't expect to be spending too much time outside from June-Aug. And learn to Love Tex-Mex.

STAY AWAY FROM MOMENTUM ON 59 AND BELTWAY 8. Too many horror stories there with family and friends.. oh and myself. Stay away.

With that said, I also did ED with Advantage BMW Midtown and my only gripe would be superficial - I never got a thank you gift from my salesman and he never re-explained the car to me upon delivery so there's a bunch of stuff I still don't know how to do in it.

Who is your service advisor? Did they activate launch after your 1200 mile service? I want to make sure I get a good service advisor there when it comes time to do my service.

I've heard similar stories about Momentum.

I was recommended to use Stacy (male) as an adviser. He owns and races fast cars, and has been in that role for a long time. He did a good job of explaining the pulling to the right and took care of my loaner car when the dealership was short on them. He knows M cars well and has been to Germany to drive them on the autobahn. Good guy.

I had no idea M car's don't come with run-flats, he informed me when discussing the tires and why BMW prefers to not use them on their sportier cars.

Welcome.

Momentum 59 is pretty bad, but there is a Austin Yellow M4 thats been there for over a month. Might be able to negotiate.

BMW West was my choice. Ask for Minh Nguyen. I was able to work a pretty nice deal with him and Dan. A few of us were able to to get around 2-3k off. I was lucky to compound few incentives to get over 5k off.

I hate you. Leave this thread immediately.

Also, before you leave, would you mind installing an RKP diffuser if I order it today?

It's still hard to get but I think the RKP one is nicer and more aggressive.

I called in to ask about the Austin Yellow M4. The guy who answer the phone told me they have an offer on it but if I am willing to pay more than MSRP. He will let me have it. I laughed and hang up Guy name Tom didn't catch his last name I guess it doesn't matter now.

BMW of West Houston (Formerly BMW West) will be moving to a new state of the art facility a few more miles west off of Westgreen exit on February 9th. It will be the biggest BMW Center in Houston. BTW Minh is the #1 CA in all the surrounding states.

Houston dealers suck big time, go to some other places because you can't get a good price in this city. I got $5,900.00 of MSRP last month but not from Houston.

If this guys last name was Butcher, run fast and far. He's a real piece of work. I've purchased my last 5 cars from BMW of the Woodlands. Great experience every time. Ask for Mark Toups......tell him I sent you his way.........Phil

Another reason to add on my never-ending list of why I hate Momentum BMW off the Beltway. I saw the an AY M3 mounted by the freeway on the way home from work the other day.. looked great but LOL at over MSRP.

^HAHA i originally ordered from him and he was a douche. He always made it seem like he was doing me a favor letting me order the car at MSRP. I quickly cancelled my order there and ordered at Midtown.

That is indeed him......and stevenc, you are right. I purchased my 99 E36 M3 from him and went back 3 years later to get a X5. He really thought he was doing me a favor. He even lied about the financing in the hopes that I would put some money down on the deal. I called BMWFS myself and long story short, I purchased the X from someone else and haven't spoken to this clown since. And I see him all the time when I'm at the dealership. I purchased 1 last X from the dealership and have since taken all my business to the Woodlands. So word to the wise.......don't buy from this guy.........Phil
