Detailer's Domain: Big Clean Up on a Big Classic - Mercedes 600 SEL W100

Mercedes-Benz 600 (W100) - this was a big one!

This one was a call that took us off guard. The 600 SEL has been a car I had waited to work on for years. Always loved this one since I first saw it as a kid in the old movies. I knew my customer had this car but had never seen it, finally got a call in for it and I was a bit surprised it was for mold removal......a lot of it. The car was brought in and after taking a look at it, the customer and I decided it was best to go full out on it - mold removal, engine clean up, paint correction, and protection.

This car is a special one to the family, we took special measures to take our time and made sure we were able to get it back to it's glory.

After steaming mats were removed and vacuumed.

After everything was steamed and vacuumed we went ahead and used Leather Master Mold Remover to remove any left over traces of mold.

After the mold remover was applied we waited a day to check on the interior. Using a black light we found no mold left in the interior. Carpets, leather, wood, all free and clear of mold

Leather Master Protection Cream applied

Random shots - interior detailing

Awesome work, Phil, as usual. Be honest though, this has GOT to be one of the oddest, rarest projects you have had in the shop to date!
