Ram Air Intake System released from GruppeM

see their site...
http://www.gruppem.co.jp/en/home.html Check the news section.

carbon fibre ram air system released yesterday. 268,000 Japanese Yen or €1,897.00

expensive but i had one of these on my last car and it was very effective...tempting...

I emailed them today to see if they could do any better on the price.

Anyone interested in a group buy??

$2,000 + for minimal performance gains and less mpg...not a difficult choice for me

Gains?
I know the sound should change with the CF box. Need some better pics to see it more clearly.

I remember being told by someone who's name escapes me that this was one of the reasons why the CSL was so special, it definitely explains why it was so bloody expensive that's for sure.

Now this is 100% Just MHO but that is a complete waste of money. Man, why not put that to super light wheels, or engine tuning or something......yes, none of what I listed could be had for €1,897.00, but it would be nice junk of what one of those things would cost.

i dont know what you consider high performance...but i sure do know people who have had them for maybe 1/10th of the price you posted. furthermore, i said minimal gains, i hope you dont plan on shaving 1 sec off your 1/4 mile time with a Raim Air Intake

so to reiterate, unless this thing comes with a BJ or happy ending, i dont see on it my X-mas list

GruppeM products are typically of the highest end you can find. If you want the best, and are willing to pay for it, they will supply you. Their e46 M3 intake and exhaust system were second to none and looked VERY good while doing it.

The price is steep though. I'll probably be interested in getting their e92 m3 exhaust system before I get the intake. I bet it will sound godly though. So I might have to make some extra room in my m3 planning budget.

I'd possibly be interested in a group buy, but it will have to be months from now since I doubt I'll be one of the first people here to get their M3.

I'd have to agree for once with Rimola on this. This is ridiculous, I've never even heard of people buying an intake for the sound, maybe the exhaust, but the intake?!?! That's like buying a supercharger because you just like the way it whines. This is way too much money for an intake, and I don't care what it looks like, my hood will be closed 99% of the time anyway.

Actually, in my current car the intake and engine noise far exceeds any exhaust noise I hear in the cabin. I would also imagine that the M3 might be a similar experience stock.

(My car is stock everything.)

check this out and tell me it doesn't interest you...

This car had only changed the intake. This is exactly how my old Z4M sounded. It also accelerated better and the intake did not influence the fuel consumption one bit.

I dont know why i am trying to persuade about one of these...if you ever had one you would know that they are worth the money.

Not really impressed with the video, maybe I need to hear what a stock one sounds like first. I wouldn't expect gas mileage to decrease with an intake, usually intake and exhauts helps fuel economy rather than hurt it.

I didn't realize people made replica after market intakes. I probably should of expected it, but it caught me as odd to hear it.

well when the real gruppe m is $1500+, $400 for a replica is real tempting.

ray is right... they do produce the top end quality products when it comes to exhausts and intakes, as for paying the big bucks for it, that's just a simple matter of economics; as for a group by I'd definitely be interested in their exhaust when it drops (cause I know it's going to be uber insane) and maybe even a two for one group buy (intake and exhaust cheers!

I'll have one. I've got one on my 325 and it's LOUD. I can't imagine what it's going to sound like on a V8.
