Dashcam?

Just saw this on Ebay's daily deals today:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HD-Dash-Ca...-/381122925587

Toying with the idea of getting one, does anyone on here have one or similar? What are people's thoughts on these?

Careful which one you buy as most seem to be faulty.

By the time someone uploads the videos to YouTube to rant about others' bad driving, somehow they manage to show the complete opposite.

It's got to be the cameras making the car they are in appear to be even more useless at driving than the people they criticise at driving, surely?

Loads have the same issue.

Eh?

Anyway, in answer to your question, get yourself one that's both proven to be reliable and most of all, has an excellent image day & night. I have this one. Brilliant bit of kit. Had it for 8 months now and it's been faultless

It was sarcasm.

Too many people stick dashcams on their car and bikes, then drive aggressively causing issues, then use the camera to try to prove they were in the right.

The videos often show that the camera person was far too keen to cause the issue or didn't have the ability to foresee something that was utterly predictable.

Giving people cameras does turn too many into power hungry idiots.

I just have a dash cam so there's no he said, she said nonsense when it comes to responsibility for an accident. I run 2 mobius cameras (one front, one rear) which I can take out of the car and use for all sorts of things like a mini gopro. Great quality. Fairly cheap and proven to work well.

Here's real proof a 335i can go up a hill in the snow! Thanks to my dash cam.

As said above. Some cheap cameras perform poorly at night.

For the op, don't get that cheap mirror one....

You can get a decent one for around £100.

+1,

Already proved it's worth when someone pulled out in front of me at a roundabout. No contact, we pulled over to the side, she got our ranting at me. I sat in my car and showed her the reply, she shut up and drove away!!...

Fecking stupid bitch 0, Dash cam 1. Result!!!

I run 2 of these, front and back.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00IPDD59...ter_B00IPDD3SK

Superb video quality, and a bargain for £42 inc 32gb card. I do remember the 'tech moan' chap reviewing this saying it was one of the best cameras for the money.

I also run a G1W, love it. Had it over a year now and it's been nothing but faultless.

I run a DOD LS330W. Faultless and video quality is great both day and night. Can take a 64GB card so 8 hours continous video.

Not sure about anyone else but i certainly don't drive any different with the cam. I forget its even there to be honest.

Running 2 mobius. Closest I've probably come so far. Luckily I'm always aware of people being clueless on roundabouts.

Video has been compressed to poor quality. Proper quality is full hd 1080p

Either hard wired into fusebox or using the cigarette lighter.
