what would you do??
driving down to florida from NJ for 2 weeks on Saturday. i will prob put close to 3000 miles. my wifes 2013 328 has 15k miles w 9 months left on her lease..
my car 2011 e92 335 and is lowered on kw v1. what would you do? take her car down and she drives my car for 2 weeks in NJ?(roads arent that great w some potholes and scraping the bumper if shes not careful going over bumps or whatever) or take my car down to florida so at least i dont have to worry about what she is doing with my car but then could put some wear and tear from a long road trip..

Drive to Virginia and take the Auto Train the rest of the way. Saves about 1800 miles of driving round trip. Its currently on sale too. $85 for coach + the car (about $225). I'll never drive to florida again.

When I was younger, my family and I did this... it was AWFUL. It was over a 20 hr train ride... sure if the train went straight to FL it would have been nice, but the damn thing stoped EVERYWHERE...also, for some reason, they ran out of food/drinks/snacks the 2nd day... We could've drove, stopped overnight, and still beat the train to FL. I'd drive her car... and then tell her to either not drive your car anywhere other than work, OR, if money allows.. get a rental car, either for you, or her, would be like $20-30 bucks a day.... Or just fly and get there in about 2 hours.

^^^ you must have taken the regular train. The auto train is non-stop from Lorton, VA to Sanford, FL. Time on the schedule is 17.5 hours (400pm to 930am)... the last few times I've taken it, its been ahead of schedule.

maybe they've changed it, since this was probably... 15 years ago, but all I can remember is my parents and I saying we will never, ever, ever, ever take the autotrain again, and I feel the same way now. I've driven from PA to southern FL in 19 hours, stopping only for gas/food/bathroom... if I cant fly, I don't mind taking the road trip. Flying, driving straight trough, or rental car are my preferred ways. I highly doubt Ill ever take the train again, even if they did change it.
