Snow = Wishing for an RS6

Today is the first day I regret buying an M5.

Snow & ice in a rear wheel car which struggles to put the power down at the best of times. Had to limp along in efficient mode and still the back wheels spun…and yes I was light on the power before you ask.

Into the wife's Q5 for the next few months.

A sad day

You have winter tires ? If not, those summer tires are useless when temp falls to around 0 degree Cel.

BMW 330D

My 330d with Conti winter tyres outperformed my daughter's FWD Audi on regular tyres when the roads became slippery. The difference is truly night and day.

My M5 goes great in the snow. In 4 inches of snow it forged ahead, grabs well on ice, quite a task given the 255mm rubber. My Winters are studded Nokian Hakka 8s and grab well inspiring driver confidence....

Any winter tires are fine since the rubber compound is made to be soft for cold weather application.

If you go for 19 wheels, then only the 345M or 408M stock wheel can fit the M5, there are no known aftermarket wheels that will fit, therefore, be careful of your choice.

Dont think an RS6 would be worth a monkeys (to the OP) .. I had an S6 and when the snow fell it was a worthless piece of sh*t .. 4wd and quattro .. my arse !! .. might have won them rally championships years ago .. but on a road car now it is rubbish in the white stuff .. so was the BMW X5 I had after it right enough ... both got left in the garage .. and I do off road driving from time to time, so I know what works

I honestly think nothing is decent in the snow unless you have winter tyres on.
