Fucking coppers murdering people on a daily basis...I know this dude went a bit nuts but these police are still out there killing innocent people (and getting away with it)
All of the highest rated comments on that video are anti-cop.

American mentality, unfortunately. I'm sorry, but if you are given specific directions from a cop, you listen. This is exactly why we hear stories of COPS killing people, because people are out of their fucking minds. I've dealt with a lot of shitty cops in my day, but nobody but them have to deal with people like this.

Such a sad video to watch. Fuck those commenters and their bigot views.

That stupid criminal had a death wish.
If I was the owner of the house, I would have shot that crazy idiot swigning shovel at me.

Why would the cops shoot a dead man from Utah?

See video title.

Now if this guy was of a certain color, protests and riots would arise in that area. Al Sharpton would rally up the troops and Obama would mention, "if I had a shovel on my footsteps of the White House". Guy got what he deserves.

So this tweaker is basically casing houses under the guise of "snow removal" then flips out and swings a blunt force object at a cop and gets dumped.
I don't see a problem here. The only problem (and growing problem in America) is people's refusal to accept personal responsibility for their actions.

What does 3/10 justified mean? That this wasn't really all that justified?

If so, what are you smoking? Because I want some of that good shit!

The cop was stubborn? How so? By performing an investigation into a complaint by a home-owner?

The guy was actually pretty calm at first trying to lie his way through scoping out houses and cars to burglarize in the future. During the course of the investigation (which is exactly what it was) the cop was entirely within limits to ask for his name. The suspect was also well within his right to refuse to answer.

Suspect got pretty intense pretty quickly. Once he got there the cop called for backup (which again is appropriate) and then tried to calm the guy down, but the guy was already too out of hand and wasn't listening.

The guy could have beaten him to death with that shovel. Wonder how many of the folks here posting lately would have praised him for beating a cop to death.

I did not know I can call the police for unwanted solicitations and the police will come and shot them for me. Need to keep that in mind next time the jehovah witness show up and claim I need to be saved.

That dude had it coming.

The criminal swung at the cop first, seriously what was the criminal expecting to happen? For the cop to run?

Everyone here knows i don't like Cops but videos like this reminds me how difficult their jobs can be.

Watching the video gives you an idea what they go thru on their job each day.

You dont know when you step out of your car, if that's the last few minutes of your life or not, even if it's a benign looking situation like a single guy just standing there. Even at the beginning, the guy didnt seem that hostile or aggressive, he seemed relatively calm. Clearly full of shit, but calm nonetheless. (unlike some interactions that I've witnessed where the suspect is belligerent and aggressive right from the very beginning, so you know right away it wont end well)

I guess it proves you can't be too cautious, you shouldnt let your guard down and give the other person the benefit of the doubt based on their initial response. If you stopped the video halfway thru their discussion, I would not have guessed it to end like that. He just sorta snapped, and things escalated VERY quickly at the end.

Even more evidence that it's never in your own best interest to make the cops job harder, especially if they have experienced situations like that, and they dont know if you are the next wacko.

Look how quick this goes bad. volume is kind of loud in this one. @ 2:03 keep an eye on the free hand of the guy being cuffed. Keep in mind that the cop was quickest on the draw but hesitated shooting.

The video reminds me of these turds.
Fairly decent shooters can shoot from hands up->unholstering->acquring target-> shoot the target in less than 1.5sec.
As for officers, they carry Level II or III duty holster. 1.5 second is SOMETIMES NOT ENOUGH time to undo/clear the II or III retention active/passive system.
This is why taking pistol out when they are threatened (armed or looks to be unarmed) are fully justfied.
