Nope... no idea why not, other than a lot of drivers in the US drive around with their front fog lights on when it's perfectly clear out. Prolly can't trust the same drivers with the rear ones....
I had 'em on my Evoque & they were enabled by default. Weird BMW doesn't do it.

Too cool - A very nice safety feature, for the few times you are in really thick fog. I will certainly add this to my list of coding to-do's (once I decide to take the plunge). Especially loving that it just takes removing a lockout on the switch - I'm guessing that they want about $200 for a new euro switch?

are these also the brake lights that come on during hard (ABS) braking?
if so, i had mine coded to flash when they are activated. Last edited by Spydeputy; 11-15-2016 at 01:47 PM.. |

No, they do not - only the flashing turn signal comes on when signaling.

What are the coding values for just the left side rear fog light?
Usually rear fog lights are only on the drivers side of the car so that cars traveling behind don't think you're applying your brakes. |

This would be cool to hear...as for the side of the car...good luck with anyone here in the USA understanding rear fogs, period.

For the love of God, please don't use this unless it is really bad out. Around here there are so many asshat Audi drivers who turn their rear fog lights on when the weather is clear.

I think that's called the Brake Force Display, or at least it used to be. What was the coding involved for getting them to flash when ABS is activated like that?

great mod. I did this mod on my 2011 328i. but I didn't have to code it to enable it. once I stripped the tabs, it worked. I use it for tailgaters, highbeamers, in fogs, and super sunny days.
I will be doing this to my new 2 series once it comes.

I finally did this mod. I went ahead and ordered the euro switch from ECS. I only coded the left (driver's side) rear fog light, as it would be done in continental Europe.
