Coded Euro lighting feedback...

I picked up a new M4 on Saturday – coding done on Sunday for the Lighting package – these things are a trip – so, I’ve been driving with Auto high beam on – and it just enables high beam at every opportunity it deems necessary – it’s so weird driving behind a car with the high beams on, but it was obviously not affecting the car in front – it’s just trippy – I found myself glancing at the driver when I passed, on the lookout for a middle finger, but nothing.
Those that had this package coded, do you experience the same? – did you ever have other motorists get pissed or hit you with high beams?
The whole technology is pretty cool with the mirrors – just looks so cool on the road with all 4 headlamps on, mirrored to half when high beams are not engaged.

Do you also need the executive epackage or drivers aid package to enable this or only the lighting package?

This thing is kind of getting old. It's not as it was advertised... at least not for me. I coded mine and it's "working". Most of the time when driving on the highway or wherever with no other cars around me, it turns the right headlights hi-beam and points it to the right... almost as if it's looking for side animals or some shit.

Then sometimes it will turn the left headlight but very rarely as it can get blinding. I don't know... to me it's pointless.

Just did it this past weekend. I loved it. We have some pretty strict light pollution laws around here, and then you combine that with lights of tight curvy roads with lots of blind spots, it's potentially very dangerous. With the high beams, I can focus on driving, and not throwing the things on and off every second, and it does an immaculate job not interrupting others. Why they're not legal here should, itself, be a crime.

I posted this on another thread, but thought it may be of relevance here.

"I have coded this feature on my car and definitely see a difference. You can see the lights moving around. However, I would say that the effect is not as pronounced as in the video. To me, it seems that the "tunnel" created by the lights in the video has been artificially enhanced to make it more obvious. Even by looking at the still initial frame you can almost see a "square" that changes the color of the sky. This either real or artificial difference between what I see and what I see in the video does still make me wonder whether or not the camera needs to be recalibrated, as reported by some posts on here. Can it be done with E-Sys?

I did drive back from Michigan last night on both single lane and highway driving and never once experienced anyone flashing me or that seemed to be agitated or annoyed by my lights. Given how bright the LED lights are, I am sure I would have received a "signal" of some kind.

The best final test was an encounter with an Ohio State Trooper on the highway. My anti-dazzle high-beams kicked in with him in front of me, and there was definitely very bright light illuminating the side of the roads all around him. I was focused on checking whether or not my high beams were hitting his rear-view or side mirrors, which is normally very easy to spot. It didn't seem to but I felt for sure he would pull me over and I was very close to disabling it. I stuck with it and he didn't seem to flinch. Eventually he pulled off, and I "pulled away." "

When you could for euro auto high beams does this mean when the headlamps automatically turn in the high beam assist also turns on as well? Or do you still have to push the button for it to turn on?

Just wondering since coded my car already and hearing more about the anti dazzle makes me want to but I'm hesitant cause I don't feel like recoding everything. Is it worth it? Thanks in advance!

I have to still hit my high beam assistance button. I think there were some attempts to code this to be on by default whenever the lights activate, but I can't recall if anyone was successful or not.

true.. you do have to push the button each time you start the car. It can be coded on 5&7 series and the SUV line...but wont work on F3x or F8x

So this doesn't work?

High-Beam Assistant – Auto-On:
3060 FLA_AKTIVIERUNG set to: werte=02
3073 C_HBA_ENA set to: F030_enable=01

There are people on here that have gotten it to work. I'm in the same boat but no car yet. If you don't have drivers assist you need to code the FA and the Fem body (I believe)...some have had to calibrate the camera, and others have said it just works. If you need to calibrate the camera, it's a different computer system and I don't believe can be done by us mere mortals with windows...

I just did ED last week and my M4 does not have drivers assist but has the lighting package and one of the things they told me at the welt was how cool the lights were and they were indeed. Car was programmed that way from BMW and I love the way the lights adapt.

Went back to my coder and they definitely are doing some crazy shizz now. It is kind of un-nerving, but no one travelling in the opposing lane flashed me.
