Carbon ceramics or not.

I will be ordering my M3 soon and this is my only decision left to make. I HATE how the regular brakes look I think the front calipers are way too small. If I don't get the carbon ceramics I know I will be getting a brembo big brake kit which I believe costs about 5500.00 front and rear. In the end I will be saving maybe 2500.00 (Labor I can do myself) and that 8150 will not be in the price so my finance would obviously be less. Wanted to hear everyone else's opinions.
Thanks in advance

Unless you are driving around a semi-truck or a racecar the standard brakes are bigger. Do you need bigger brakes? No, even if you track the car; no. I have the standard brakes and 18's and people often notice how large the brakes are. If you are like me with a huge penis you should have no issues.

Even if you plan on tracking the F8x, the standard brakes are highly capable of handling this activity. Change pads...auto cross...change pads...change brake and oil fluid/filter...track...change pads...rinse and repeat...IMO the CCBs are not worth the $8000. Save it for a set of track tires.

The standard brakes are massive for the car, IMO. I have 18s and I don't know how they even cleared the brakes. If you must have bigger brakes, BBK would be cheaper to maintain outside of warranty.

And likely better performing. The BBK that is.

Regular brakes look awesome IMO, they really fill the wheels more then almost any other car I have seen (I have the 19" wheels) I've had CCB's on a number of cars before (Not BMW's) and while I thought they looked cool, nobody ever noticed them. If you are a really serious track guy then I'd do the CCB's otherwise stick with the standard brakes and save yourself some $$.

I never planned on getting ccb when I ordered my m4. 8k was ridiculous amount of money on brake when the stock ones are just up to par if you're not tracking. I didn't like the fact it was gold, I thought I would like it in blue. After many delay on my order I ended up with a m4 fully loaded with Ccb at my local dealer. After owning it, I love how clean the brake disc are. They are always mint! The regular steel brakes will rust around the trim which is ugly! The gold definitely grows on me day by day. I thought my first mod of the car would be powder coating it a different color but I'm definitely keeping it gold now. Not for nothing the carbon ceramic is a crowd pleaser. I have people that aren't even into cars to car enthusiast admiring the brakes. I'm very happy with it and it definitely brings out the M! I think you would love it. Go for it

I'll certainly agree that your wheels will remain a lot cleaner with CCB's - Thats got to be worth the price on its own!

I joke but there are merits to the CCB's. The standard brakes spew dust like a volcano and if you track the car often you would see some benefit. Is it 8,000 + 1,200 19's I didn't think it was worth it so I never even considered them. I have seen posts that mention CCB squeal and shudder at low speeds too. For me the stock brakes are great, they are quiet, stop great and look good.

If you're budget allows, CCBs all the way. The brakes and rotors just look amazing and worth the cost just for cosmetic purposes alone. Not even going into all the other benefits of CCBs as discussed before. Once you see them, all other brakes on every other car including many performance cars look puny and pathetic. They are a work of art on this car.

There is no way I would spend $8k on upgraded brakes, unless of course I had enough money where $8k would be like $100 to me. I also don't track my car so go figure.

Can't see a reason for them besides bling and the dust factor....

You could buy a set of low dust pads and a set of track pads for the stock steel brakes and still come out way ahead of the CCBs and get 90+% of the benefits (besides the bling).

But if I had the money to burn I would have done it

I love the regular brakes, I think they still look amazing. Honestly, I would have rather had the CCB's but for 8K, no way, especially in yellow. If they let me choose the color, maybe I would have changed my mind (I know I could get them painted) but at the end of the day, for a daily driver and even the track, these are amazing brakes.

If you get them, you'll love them. If you don't they are too expensive and unnecessary.
