Pricing makes somewhat sense:

$1200 for Logic7 from the base Hifi
$700 for Individual from a base Logic7 car

And for me, with no one nearby that understands sound, that 4 year warranty sounds nice. I will most likely do it, unless I do PCD and want to drive to bavsound or wherever to have them drop something in.

$1900 makes me cringe, admittedly, but good sound is worth it imho. Staying stock appearance is paramount to me too.

Curious if this is better than logic7... our we missing out going with premium sound or are actually getting a great system?

I've said it in other threads: the M Audio is an incredible system and well worth the price of admission. I've had it for a few months in my M5 and I could never imagine going back to HK or any other standard sound package.

My understanding is that it does not come with logic 7, which is not even an option. It's either the base analog system or this high end system.

That's how I understand it. I love the Logic 7 in my 335, but I don't know that I'd want less than that.

Someone listed it here earlier, but I'm too dizzy from reading posts all day.

I think it has 16 speakers and an 850 watt amp, etc...

Here's more info.

I have this in my car and it's incredible... The only problem I have is that I would like to be able to quickly change the equaliser, like with a couple of presets, for lisstening to house/dance/techno, RnB and Hip-hop.

But don't you worry if you get this soundsystem, it's really awesome! My friends are even starting to know when to go out to the road when picking them up, apparently first they hear the V8 going like wroooooom and that's when they start to go out, and when they hear the soundsystem like booom booom booom, they start to run

Yeah, but probably cost you that much or more in aftermarket, and OEM has a 4-year warranty. I've gone back and forth on this. I don't tend to rock out when driving as I like to concentrate on the task at hand. However, I'd like something better than base audio. Again, too bad Logic7 is not an intermediate option like it is in most countries.

Exactly.

I have decided to go with this option. It's debatable whether or not you could replicate or better this stereo in the after market for the same money or less (And, if less, how much and is it worth the trouble). Besides, after shopping for the right equipment, finding the right installer, leaving your car with a shop and having the dash torn apart, I think you would have wished you ordered the enhanced stereo from the beginning. Of course, BMW knows this and has priced this option very smartly; from a business standpoint.

I look at it like this; the MSRP is really $56,500 plus $1,200 for a real sticker of $57,700 which is what it would have been had it been equipped with the Logic 7 stereo. So, for another $700 you get the better stereo.

It's still all good as far as I am concerned. I don't think that anyone would have complained about the higher MSRP with the medium stereo.

Now all I have to stress over is M-DCT!

What's your opinion of the bavsound systems? I'm debating whether or not to get one for my E46 M3.

It is that good? Okay, you guys might have me almost convinced. I am not buying the tech. pac. though. Only EDC stand-alone. OEM sat./nav. sucks IMO. I'll buy a portable (better and cheaper too) to share between me and the GF's 335i.
