As some of you are aware I had a slight mishap with a kerb yesterday and damaged my wheels. I was looking at new wheels but with it just being Christmas money is a little thin on the ground.

A friend of mine powder coats wheels and has offered to repair mine and powder coat all 4 for £200.

Now my question is how good is powder coating on wheels?

Also my current wheels are hyper silver and the powder coating will be slightly duller.

Generally powder coating is the more durable option . The finish on mine were spot on!

why not get refurb for 120-140?

Powder paying is very durable. The only problem if you catch the week the powdercoat will peel and go nasty where are you can touch the paint up if you get em painted

I don't fancy just getting the faces painted as this has been done prior to me buying the car & they have started to peel already.

The only concern I have is the colour won't be as bright.

I've heard different stories some of how powder coating is the be all and end all & one with the same for painting, powder coating I have had done on my motorbike wheels & the finish is amazing & I would recommend the company who did mine to no end.

however that being said some companies may not be as great.

Well the car has been dropped off, I very nearly chose to have them done in ferric grey but as the car is black I feel the wheels would have been lost so I've stuck with silver.

I have gun metal wheels and love them. They give the car an agressive look if the colour is right
