Ao1's Build

I have now finished moding my car, so I thought I would share some of the work I have done. The only mod enhancements I will do now will be when I need to replace parts.

Here is a list of mods I have done:

Very nice car

But I can already feel the "you're never done modding" comments coming

How easy was it to fit the gear knob?

It was supposed to be plug and play. No instructions so you have a 50/50 chance of getting it wired up correctly first time. The existing gator has to be cut and re-stitched to enable the new lever to be fitted. It would have been so much better if it had come with a new gator. Other than those two grips it’s quite easy.

One of my favourite car on the forum! The amount of effort and money gone into this car is unbelievable.

Loving the all black interior.
Any chance of more photos? Would like to see some full car shots from a bit further away.

I've got a few minor teaks lined up and then I will take some photos with a camera rather than a phone. Should all be done in the next couple of weeks.

A silver lining to the damage someone caused my car in a car park. Mstyle wings and bumper. Had to think about if for a while as I did not want to make my car an M3 clone, having already used a few M3 enhancements, but went for it anyway. Got to wait 4 week before being able to wrap it so the paint can fully cure.

I have also now fitted a performance exhaust, K&N filters and an M3 boot lip. One more small but significant tweak hopefully coming soon.

We had this very car in last year for some brakes, while it was with us I had a good nose round.

It was the car that made my mind up re buying M3 side skirts. As makkan's system it's when you start looking around at it close up that you notice everything's been done to an exceptionally high standard.

M3 interior makes the inside but it was the vinyl wrap, more importantly the way it was executed that makes this perhaps the best wrapped car I've seen up close, I had a look around the usual suspect areas like the side skirts and inner arch area for cuts in the vinyl, but all I saw was neatly wrapped parts.

Cars and attention to detail has IMO been applied throughout. Re the accident dare I say every cloud and all that be interested to see the finished article with what appears to be slightly wider front wings, once wrapped to get the full effect.

Engine mods are interesting and rare too to take on but I guess the end result is one very individual 325i

Hi Steve, people that have seen the car in the flesh have also commented that the wings look wider, but I don’t think they are. I think it’s the bumper profile that gives the illusion of a wider wing. Below is a side by side comparison.
Totally Dynamics in Enfield did the wrap. They took a lot of parts off the car to give it the seamless appearance. Can’t wait to get it fully wrapped again.

i see what you mean re the width the M3 front bumper looks like at the ends its visually got more width but when you put it side by side with the space grey picture you've shown hardly looks any wider. The only difference I can see re size difference is where the headlight washers are if you look there's more depth around that area the headlight washer appears to sit further towards the front of the bumper but thst might be because the standard affair is sculptured towards the headlight which follows the shape of the headlight, while the M3 rep isn't and goes straight to the headlight.

Dare say the deal will be done once the wraps sorted.

Like other have said.... attention to detail on this car can not be beaten!

1 or if not the best E92 I've seen! Now with a CF roof.... it's gonna look even more badass (as they would say in the US)!

Great work!

Looks like you've finally got he front end wrapped looking at what looks like a wrapped front near side wing?

re the roof like Raj, you don't mess about and as Raj has stated up close yes this was one clean car, best wrapped car I've seen as up on the ramp you can have a look at how its been cut and on the side skirts for instance these had been removed wrapped then installed around the doors all really well done no cut edges or nothing so some decent time went into this re wrapping too..

Look forward to the end result

Hi Steve,

Yes, the wings and bumper are now wrapped.

Sam has also fitted an M3 Speedo for me and when I get the car back he will fit a rear camera.

Sam did the satnav retrofit for me some time ago, but the GPS receiver was fitted to the A pillar to save taking the roof lining out. It has worked great, but now the roof is coming off I can use the opportunity to fit an upgraded shark fin module with GPS so it will be 100% OEM.

The CF roof will be sanded down and re-lacquered, so high gloss, which will hopefully mix well with the mat black.

Nicely modded and very good job on the wrap. Simpsons are very good so nice one on the roof upgrade. Hope the PMs helped.

^ Thanks for the inspiration and help. Getting the CF roof from the donor car was a real nightmare as it was bonded with hard set adhesive. I reckon I could have fitted it myself, but Simpsons came highly recommend and in reality it is a mod best left to professionals.

Here is the donor roof being slowly dissected. A full days nerve racking work.
