Screen wash heads - up.

Seeing as it's that time of year again, I thought I'd top up on screen wash. Halfrauds are selling off the -10 concentrate for £2.50 for 5L.

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/s...&storeId=10001

I know some guys insist on using oem because of the blocking headlight nozzle issue. Mine are disconnected so I don't have that worry. The Halfords stuff has always served me well. And at this price is a gift.

Thanks will take a look tomorrow.

I don't have headlight washers so I guess I don't have any concerns?

I've bought VW screenwash from the dealers for years now. It's nearly neat in the bottle at the moment with the deep freeze we're having at the moment. It's absolutely superb
I've also been keeping a keen eye in the morning on the headlampwashers in case they're frozen solid .....

You should have a plastic card on the glove box fuse box that will tell you the right one (once you have deciphered the sign language!)

This ^^^
Every car is different. You will have to check the card in the glove box.

Cool, thanks guys I'll have a look - I take it they'll be now warning or annoying 'bong' noises with the fuse out?

Off to halfords at lunchtime for some screen wash anyway

Nope. Just huge savings on screen wash with the fuse pulled as you are using 2/3 less!
Just FYI. You may need to stick it back in for MOT time.

If you only pull the lever a short way and in small amounts then the headlamp washers don't come on anyway

Lidl have their -60° stuff in just now. Perfect for stopping frozen headlamp jets .

They've also dropped the price to £4.99 for 5l.

None of the other low freezing point stuff is this cheap.

I couldn't find it originally either. I had to ask as it was in enclosed white boxes of three like this. So I took a full box.
