Where is the "M Performance silencer system" for X4 35i ?

Date: 14.11.2014
M Performance silencer systems enhance visual and aural appeal.
A BMW M Performance valve silencer, whose operating mode can be adjusted remotely via Bluetooth, is available exclusively for the BMW X4 xDrive35i. As well as Sport mode – distinguished by a strikingly emotion-rich soundtrack – drivers can also select the Track mode conceived for use exclusively on the race track, which specialises in even more hardcore and performance-focused sound development. The stainless-steel silencer system also comes with trapezoidal chrome tailpipe embellishers in the style favoured by eight-cylinder BMWs.

So where is this part for X4 35i ??

The above exhaust is listed on a website in Poland:
http://http://www.mm-performance.pl/...ce-p-1702.html

unfortunately I don't speak polish, so I m unable to understand if it is the upcoming BMW Original Part or just a copy.

I have ordered the AC Schnitzer one with the quad outlet (which i think looks nicer) and this comes with a template to cut out the right hand side of the diffuser. This is being fitted by BMW themselves and so approved and will be installed next Friday...

Chopper. Can you supply picture after installation - worried about the cut. In the picture there is a white frame - although I have a Carbon Black vehicle.

I feel that four outlets are a bit over the top for less than a V8 and 500bhp.

Also interested in the illegal setting on the M system.

I forgot: I was afraid that 306bhp and 400Nm would be a little on the low side for a 1.9 ton AWD vehicle - but with the 8-speed it is not. I could, however, have some more pronounced exhaust sound when doing some fast driving- and I don`t like the left side only endpipes.

Come spring, I will lower the vehicle and install a nicer exhaust.

Chopper: Sorry pal but it is everything but a diffuser.

Jypsie: The internal INFO just mention F26 and "6 cylinders", however if you Google, you will find that, so far, this type of exhaust systems have only been developed for 6 or 8 cyl. petrol engines. Somehow the German engineers seem to think that diesel engines are not sporty

So, any idea if it works on a 30D 6 cyl? Whether diesel engines are sporty or not is an opinion.....

I am fully aware of that the performance with a diesel and the 8 speed is very good. I was just trying to explain why the Germans, so far, have concentrated on performance petrol engines . I prefer 3000-7000 rpm performance prior to 2000-4500 rpm performance - but that is also an opinion . I also have a very good exhaust sound, the problem is that it is barely noticeable inside.

My impression is that it is only certified for petrol engines. I don`t know if it will fit a diesel. The alternative is another aftermarket system - but they don`t have the valve.

I will write a review after installation on my car. But that is in spring, when I will remove the wintertires and lower the vehicle. Spring in Sweden is in April.

I like the fact that the design of this exhaust is +/- similar to the one on the Concept X4.

well there is now such thing on the German website although it is not M performance exhaust system just visual upgrade for 6 cylinder engines.

http://www.bmw.de/de/topics/service-...F0ZWdvcnkzIn0=

And quite cheap. Wonder how it is done because it is not just a cut since as you can see there is a part around the tailpipe which is in the body colour. Are they replacing you the lower part of the bumper? I doubt since the price seems low to me.

Probably I will end up getting one. Might even order it before my car arrives.

Thx for the link Pr0gi,

but this exhaust is only for the 18d and 20d engines (X3/X4). It has the only optic of the M Performance one, but is not made the same way, and does not have the BT tech. The german text mentions "tailpipes ala 6 cylinders"

Yeah, took me some time to understand what it meant I was living in illusion that we can get that setup as shown on the picture for the 6 cylinder. Silly me.
