Anyone tried BMS Stage 1 on their 228i?
I have read nothing but good things about those who went for it in their F30 328 as well as the other N20 cars and was wondering if anyone took the leap and got it for their 228 yet. It seems no one went for it yet

Having driven the car back to back with a stock 435i, this car pulls harder from a rolling start. |

I had it on my own 2013 328 , same engine as yours.
power gains / price = no brainer

Does this shorten the component lifespan in any way? will one have to replace things like gaskets, fuel/water pumps, turbos sooner than expected?

But the quick and dirty, any performance thing you add to your car that puts more stress on the engine will obviously lead to some of the maintenance things you mention happening quicker but quicker means 75k mile as opposed to 100k not like tomorrow. But there are some N20s out there with 75k miles and tuned with zero problems. Then again there are some stock n20s out there at 5k miles with completely blown engines. Basically no one fricken knows at all. If you are into some risk do it. If not don't. It's not worth it if you are second guessing yourself

My stage 1 actually had given me a drivetrain malfunction of some sort, a few months back. Not sure what it was till this day. Board looked good, no burns or imperfections. However I sent it back to Berger. I was apart of the low percentage of n20's that had this issue from what Berger tuning informed me, it does happen to us and was affecting the 3 series f chassis with n20's as well. So I went from that and upgraded to stage 2 with ewg and still running strong after 5k miles. No issues and no regrets from upgrading. Didn't even blow my stock charge pipe up yet, woohoo.

No major issues. Most bugs are minor and fixed rather quickly.
Thousands of JB are sold every year, if there were any major bugs this forum's first page would be full of complaints .
