Just ordered mine too - Donington Grey with Mugello Red, and basically all the options except Night Vision and B&O sound.

Now the wait begins to find when the dealer will get allocation, and how terrifying the residual is on the lease....

Outgoing X6M is 54% for 36m/15k so hopefully it will be in that range.

Wow, that's fast! I didn't think they were starting production until late January/early February.

Jealous! I'm in the order bank, and first in line at a large dealership, but they're not expecting allocation until at least February, possibly even March!

I seriously doubt that unless BMW really wants to support the leases. I think it was closer to 30% when the previous X6M came out

With some googling - I found 36K/36mo residual for a 2010 was 52% at the time. My dealer and I ran the numbers on my lease estimates with a 48% low and 53% high residual to come up with guesstimates we think are fair.

Residual for the M models does invariably suck compared with non-M, which are usually over 60%.

I really hope you are right. When I was looking at the M model in 2010 I remember the residuals were very low and I was told that's typically the case because everythone knows these cars get abused. I got my M in the last year of the production and my residual was 57% for 10K.

@rcpx6m, couldn't wait to see your car's pictures.
Any reason of going 21" instead of 22"?

B&O imo is too expensive, still far better thank HK on offer. Just my opinion

IIRC it's a $3,700 option. Overpriced IMHO, but anything to make a BMW stereo actually sound decent ;p

I was at the dealer last week performing an in depth sound comparison of the HK vs the Bang and Olufsen systems in the 2015 X6 with the same sound sources. All controls were zero'ed out and on the HK the processing was turned off as it adds a really synthetic character in an effort to gain a more expansive soundstaging - similar to what can be found on cheap Japanese receivers using jazz club or concert hall effects.. The B&O has only one processing mode by default and the staging is expansive and the placement of images within the soundstage was precise. However, with the B&O I found that the placement of vocals to be a bit diffuse.

Comparison: The B&O is considerably clearer and more transparent sounding than the HK. The HK has a thicker - muddier character in the midrange with far less detail. The B&O has a few areas where is easily trounces the HK and it doesn't take golden ears to hear it. For example: Listen to any stringed or plucked instrument and you can hear timber and leading edge detail that the HK does not produce. Listen to all the extra detail, timber and definition in guitar and cymbal work and the difference is easily heard. The B&O renders vocals quite a bit more realistic.. The B&O is also more dynamic at all volume levels and can play louder with less stain on dynamic peaks.

Conclusion: IMHO, if one values sound a truer, more accurate sound reproduction in a vehicle then the $3700 is money well spent for the upgrade.

Great summary - thankyou!. I listen to a lot of spoken content, and music where the poor BMW midrange has frustrated me for years. While decent bass certainly improves presence, it's the not the "be all and end all" IMHO - so it sounds like the B&O is worth the extra to me

Thank you for the review. I've heard the B&O in the M6GC but never compared the side-to-side HK and B&O. I'm sure the quality of the B&O is superior no doubt.
