Trouble with the Shift knob-

Ok, i read how easy it is to remove the Shift knob (I just received my E46 M3 Short Shifter knob)..

So i attempted to Pull really hard on the knob. No Luck..

Switch the gear to 2nd, and pull as hard as I could, No luck.

Now, I am doing something wrong? Pulling Up, facing the roof, and is not comming out? I called my brother to lift the knob as hard as he can to remove the knob and still no luck....

and trust me, we pulled as hard as we could on that knob...

Is there something different about the 2008 models?!?

I never changed my shifter, but I did change my e-brake handle, and since they were both on the same DIY, I'll give you my two sense. When I was pulling on my e-brake handle, I thought I was going to brake it. It took me a good 7-8 minutes of pulling and tugging on that thing before it came loose. I don't think there's anything different with the 2008 models (as I have an '08). As long as you follow the DIY, you should be fine.

Hmm.. mine came off much easier then I thought it would.. try putting it in 4th and yanking.. If that doesn't wok, I remember reading about someone opening the sunroof, straddling the center over the iDrive knob, and pulling.. goodluck
