Differential oil?
Hello, im trying to change my differential oil on my car this weekend and i need to know what kind of oil (approved oil) i need to get and how many quarts i'd be needing? is it API GL-5 or API GL-4???? thanks~
(my car is 2007 e90 335i) |

Use a break vac to suck all the old differential fluid out and the pump the new fluid in. Pump might cost $3 to $25.00. You'll be safe getting 2 qts.
Amsoil makes a great diff fluid |

I used Royal Purple 75W-90. I forget what the spec is... I got it out of the Bentley manual, but don't have it with me.
Two 1L bottles was plenty to the front and rear diffs. I used a fluid transfer pump to suck the old stuff out and then pump the new stuff in. |
