Incentive Options
Hey all,
Quick question: I was always under the impression that if you custom order a car, that when the car arrives you get the best deal that was possible while you were waiting for it. In other words - If I order a 435 today, Ill get the 60% residual and .0013 money factor (I think thats what it is) and get the 1000$ Holiday Cash rebate. Let's say the car arrives in February, had the residual/MF/Rebate been the best of Dec./Jan/Feb, I would keep that. Otherwise I could opt to go with January incentives or February incentives. I spoke to a dealer today who told me that If I order, he cannot lock in my lease payment because the rebate will expire by the time the car comes. I will be able to maintain the same MF and residual if it was the best available, however I have to take a chance with the rebate and hope that when the car arrives there is something either comparable or better available. Was I wrong this whole time, or is the dealer BSing me to get me to take something off the lot instead?

you are correct. you basically collect any deals as it comes along the way. I too was screwed by a salesman who was inept and lazy to do this when I had ordered. I should have seen the signs when my friends got his lazy treatment before me when I introduced them to him to buy their cars.
(is an internet sales manager in a local socal dealership) don't assume just because they have a manager title that they will work for you. so, don't let salesmen like this get away with it. the dealership should fix it no matter what. |

I'm pretty sure I know the answer - but i don't want to assume Sorry for the noob questions - I've never ORDERED a car, always been suckered into taking one off the lot.
