Using pen drive

Hi to everyone..

This is a question for the lucky ones that already have their M3.

If you load a USB pen drive with songs organized in folders and with the corresponsing artist/song/album info, will the radio recognize all this info and play the songs following the organization that you made, or maybe it will organize the songs by artist as it does in an ipod....

(a USB drive is much cheaper than a ipod!!!).

iDrive will display the directory structure just as you had created it on your PC. Tracks are organised by the file name. If you have a bunch of tracks you want to play together, you can put them in the same folder or you can create a playlist (.m3u) with your PC.

No problems. I have been using an 8gig Transcend JetFlash and it works perfectly .... but in the quest for something bigger and better there are quite a few threads in the E90 forum that are quite informative about portable hard drives. Have a look at:

I've never really got into podcasts, but the one that I do like to download (Roy and HGs This Sporting Life) plays fine from the USB drive.
