Almost 42k!

Not the usual 10k/ milestone, but I forgot my camera at work over the weekend. Had the PROcede since around 20k and the LSD since 28k. No fuel pump failures, but I did lose a fuel injector.

Purchased in September 2006.

42K on just 5 fuel injectors is amazing!!!

I kid I kid... great to see a non-stock engine do so well.

Nice! I guess that means there are fuel pumps that aren't defective. Probably, there are many, because of all the 335's driving around out there, how many are checking in to the forum to say their pump is fine! It was the failures that we would hear about....

Nyulak, assuming that you had to replace your tires, at what mileage was that done? Would be nice to know what to expect from the RE050A's.....

Nothing in particular to 42k, it just took me 2000 miles to finally have my mind in gear to take the picture.

I found the fuel injector with one of my missing socks!

The stock run flats lasted about 25k miles. I have a set of winter tires that go on in November and stayed on until April. I put them on again this past Nov. and it appears they'll make it to April if it weren't for my V2 'testing' shortening the tread life.

My car was built in 2006, and it was purchased in Sept. 06. I went in for a test drive the week before in a nonsport automatic and was nicely impressed. The next week I walked into the dealership and the salesman asked why I came back, I pointed to my current car and said I'm here to buy that. That netted me the first E92 in the Cleveland, Ohio area.

It has treated me well despite my near constant desire to fly everywhere I drive. I drive a lot because I don't wish to live close to work; it takes me an hour to get there. I guess I really like to drive.

Sweet! I'd be happy to get 20k out of the RFT's.

I remember seeing my first E92 335 in Ft. Lauderdale in 9/06. I was surprised that it was already on the road. On that particular business trip, I was pretty sure I was going to get a G35S, and in my laptop bag was the Motor Trend where the E90 330 was compared to the G35S. Since the E90 330i won, I could only imagine what a 335 could do. That look in Ft. Lauderdale put the 335 coupe in my garage by 12/06. Has been in there ever since, still have 7 miles on my car...j/k!

I would definitely say spirited, but that is somewhat balanced with a large part of my commute being on the well maintained turnpike. Of the 58 miles, 42 of them are on the turnpike. Even if I'm cruising at extra legal speeds, it's fairly constant. Around town I accelerate quickly at almost every chance, but not so much to bark the tires (I have, just not often). I also tend to take corners faster than required (appreciated, needed?).

His car was a pre-March 07 production, yours is after. It's one of the changes because some people would freak out when they see their temp get so close to the maximum mark.

Nice to see you have that many miles with no serious issues. I've had my 2/07 build 335i since my March ED (car has been daily driver since May) and have around 15k miles, and I've had none of these pump issues that everyone is saying come in the first few thousand miles. My original RFTs still have PLENTY of life left in them, and I think they'll last to 30k. All of this when I would definately say I am a spirited driver as well!

BMW changed it at some point. If I know the story, they wanted the needle to be closer to the middle at normal operating temps. It's like a company spliting their stock, to put artificial pressure upwards, even though it's 6 of one, half a dozen of the other. But the market sometimes perceives a stock split as a sign of strength. So with the new gauge, there is the perception the motor is running more in the middle of the range.

What's foolishness is since the motor does have an optimal oil temp which is the same whether a vehicle has the old one, new one, or none whatsoever, the gauge is now missing the lower part of the range. Pretty darn dumb.
