Theifs stole my windshield wipers! Ideas on securing them please

So I came out this morning at 6AM to drive to work, My car is parked in a multi story carpark for residents and took off.I´d been driving for a while and decided to clean my windshield. Gladly, I did NOT decide to activate the washer, just hit the "one swipe" and was rewarded by an immense screeching sound as the metal tip slid along the windshield. Some asshat stole my drivers side windshield wiper! Luckily the local gasstation had the right one for my car (thank god BMW 3-series is a pretty common car in Sweden, or I would have been screwed, dealer opens at 9!)

Now I need two new caps, since said asshat took those aswell and some way to secure the windshield wipers.
I´m thinking some form of wire or maybe a screw or something that could be hidden under the caps?
Ideas?

Don't bother securing them. If someone wants them, they'll get them. And if they're tied to the wiper arms they'll damage those too.

I´m talking securing against those damned thiefs. I know what I need to fasten them to the arm with, thanks.

Not truly answering your question but on the bright side at LEAST it was ONLY one wiper blade it could've been way worse

You can secure them. Drill two small holes in the thin part of the wiper cover that sits over the arm where that first small square and the second longer rectangle cutouts are at the end of the wiper arm. Then use a small zip tie (wire tie) to secure the wiper cover to the arm by tying the cover to the arm with the wire tie routed through one hole then under the metal bridge between the square and rectangle cutouts then through the other hole drilled in the cover. Keep the "head" of the zip tie under the cover (back side of the cover for a clean look). Zip tying the covers to the arm will make the act of stealing the wipers a bit more difficult and maybe deter the next thief. The thief would need some wire snips to cut the wire tie. I doubt your average wiper thief carries wire cutters with him/her. Most thieves work at night so they'll not even see the zip tie and wonder, "WTF."

I came up with this approach to keep my wiper covers on when the plastic securing tab broke on one of them.

Or you could go hard core and use a No. 6 screw. Drill a hole in the cover over the square cut out, then take a washer and grind it down square to fit in the recess of the arm, then secure it with a nut. Note: I suggest a No. 6 screw, which is probably a 4MM metric.

But not the passenger side? Could it have been vandalism? At least your car wasn't keyed. That would have been more of a pain to get fixed.

I usually keep a spare wiper set in the trunk since wipers seem to fail in the rain at times when the dealer is closed.

Wire them up to your battery with a switch that comes on when you lock your car.

I'm a big fan of security spikes that shoot out if your grip doesn't match, like in Blade.

That's crazy. Due to them being included with free maintenance, I had never done them prior to Sat. And I had to watch a youtube to understand how to get those covers off.....

Who would want them? There's a possibility the ones on someone's car are already old and streak. Stupid. But put a capacitor from a home central ac unit and wire them up, why not...

Did you try applying a screw or something? That silver part on the last pic looks like you could secure it with some sort of ring on the other side. Maybe it suffices if something's not OEM and thiefs wouldn't bother investing more time in figuring it out.

Why not just take them off and throw them in your trunk when you park? There. Problem solved.
