E93 Center Console Problem

Picked up my 328 convertible 4 weeks ago. Since arrival have noted that the center console pops open intermittently when car locked or unlocked. I suspect that this has something to do with the lock mechanism in the console.
Have taken in once to the dealer for "adjustment". They say there is no adjustment that can be made. Said they fixed it....but they didn't.
Anyone else out there had this problem or have any solutions?

No such prob in 11K miles. Console should lock when car is locked, top up or down. Has never popped open on me.

Never happens to mine nor have I heard of such problem. Sounds like your lid latch is not catching. You should bring it back to the dealer.

The center console on my car is good, on my wife's e90 it takes a good slam to close it and a bit more effort on the button to open. That's all I can report.

On my E93, I have noticed that my center console does not like to be slammed shut. Rather, it wants to be deliberately closed with a firm hand (if that makes any sense); at which time the latch then catches. If you try to just slam it shut quickly, it seems as if the latch doesn't have enough time to catch, as if the latch itself was on some sort of damper that slowed things down. But when closed firmly in a smooth motion, the latch caught easily.

I've probably confused things even more, but I still hope this feedback helps.

Same with mine. If you slam it, it will not close properly. When you push down firmly it latches very easily.

Haven't heard or experienced this issue. Sounds like a dealership visit is necessary
