Hi all-just sat here thinking is this where the whine noise is coming from would you think?-should I be in 3rd gear?-I will have to see if it still happens in 3rd gear at 32mph.

Came in expecting this to be a Picasso thread. Left disappointed...

DK how do you feel about the Alpina flash in regular drive mode? I got a 2014 328xi as a loaner and I drove it today in eco pro mode, it made want to kill myself. Shifting nonstop, and it doesn't want you to accelerate but instead go soft and let it shift. Is that how the Alpina is? Have you tried eco pro in an f30?

Less use of the clutch, so the math checks out. Good suggestion. I'll go out tonight and get some races together and test the new technique

The concept is about the same with my TCU flash- shifts are swift early on, and you can easily be up to sixth gear by the time you're at 50 mph with the Alpina flash. The only time that it concerned me was when I was going up some mountain roads in New Hampshire. The engine was racing ridiculously going up and down these mountain passes. A few slaps from sport back into drive seems to have fixed it when it happened though. I cannot recall how it was when I had my stock transmission 2 years ago with this car up there, so I really can't say one way or the other if this was normal. I still remain somewhat skeptical on how good it really is for your transmission, but I've left it in place for nearly 3 months now with no issue ...yet |

I don't understand the ok to do MPH in whatever gear.... the way I see it, if the car feels underpowered, then go to a lower gear. I drive a AT and the car does 4th gear at 25 mph. USE COMMON SENSE PEOPLE! |
