Datalog if anyone cares.... how's she look?

The wife and I had a chance to do some data logging this afternoon. We did some highway pulls 3rd, 4th etc. I get back to the house and of course every damn one was "corrupt". I keep getting these corruption errors on the file and its starting to piss me off.

Anyway, only one file worked, and of course its the 1st - 2nd - begining of 3rd run on a small back road You get the point. 1st to second I bumped the limiter. It hits 14.6 for an instant and tapers to the mid to low 13's from 5500 out.

I really wish the 3rd and 4th pulls worked out. Those were fun too. We went FLYING past some guys in a mustang who I am sure were thinking "WTF!"

Im currently at 92% on 93 octane.

Oh one more thing. One thing that really bugs me is that my STRI gauge is reading 16 on the peak recal. I damn well know its not 16!

Errr!

Peak-hold electrical gauges pick up the most infinitesimal spikes. Spikes that are too short-term for even gauge needles to pick up. Spikes that are too short-term for even the sample rate of the digital screen update rate to pick up. Not an issue.

M3to335, great looking 335i.

Do I understand correctly, that based on the data from your graphs, your torque setting of 92% is your optimum on 93 octance fuel? And this is because you hit the approx. 15psi above 5500rpm? Thanks for your input.

Thats correct (14.6). Different Octane, different cars, different climate, different altitude will dictate what % your running at. Just because one guy runs 93oct @ 94%, not everyone will.

+1

Similar here. 90% settings, 95oct, 50degrees & 30% humidity, 1,600feet, peak is roughly 14.7psi.

M3to335, same gauge as you and I get the same peaks above 15 but they're caused by abrupt throttle closure. Ignoring those, the actual peaks are the same as what the datalogging software reports.

It looks like you went over 7000rpm in 1st... where is the rev limit on this car? I thought it was 7000...

Looks great.
On 93 Octane with a peak of 14.6 psi at 92% setting, time to up it to
92.7xxx% or 93.1xxx%

You'll probably see 14.8 psi peak then and with 93 Octane you'd be golden.
