Even with i-Drive you can't tell. The only way to know is through the dealer.

I still can't figure out why people post progman info in the idrive section, mods should move these posts to the relevant forum.

I did the trick by holding down the trip monitor for 10 seconds. Does it states there what version of Progman you have?

You will have to ask the dealer when they program it.

Make sure you ask them ahead of time. If you ask when you are closing out your invoice, they will just say "the latest one"... or "I think it's 27.x"...

no, im talking about doing the hack by holding down the trip button for 10 seconds. try it and then go to #5.

Accessing the menus
To access these hidden menus (or service menus).

1. Turn ignition on, or start your car
2. Press and hold the button to reset the daytrip/odometer for 10 seconds
To continue to navigate the menus, you need to use again the daytrip/odometer button (hereafter just called 'button')

Does it really matter what the latest software is? I just installed 28.0 into our Progman's if you need to know, but if you're not having any problems with the car software is a waste of time.

It doesn't. Unless you are trying to reprogram / recode your car. I'll need a full Progman update to get my headlight SMC/AHL module recoded, as well as attempting PDC retrofit.

My car keeps switching my ipod to FM mode and when I stop my car, it feels like I'm getting hit all the time from the back.

It doesn't matter what the latest is but if you are trying to figure out what features you are missing (i.e. what features were added at a particular point such as the "missing" guidance arrow which was reintroduced with Progman 23.x) or trying to figure out if a new version of Progman will resolve an open issue, then it matters.

Read my thread here ref the 'getting hit in the back' issue - exactly the same problem I had.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...=square+wheels

I had the Progman updated and that issue has been solved - I believe it will also solve the iPod thing too? (I don't have one so couldn't tell ).

A unfortunate by-product of this updated Progman though is the return of the throttle lag I was used to in my previous E46s. I'm hoping it will improve as the car re-learns?

Main point though is that I can now stop without the lurch. Man that was driving me nuts!

28.0 will fix your Ipod problems guys, it's a documented fix. As far as the transmissions go I know nothing about a software fix. Does it feel like a harsh 2-1 downshift? Remember that when the trans control module is programmed the adaptations are reset which will drastically change the way the trans shifts for a while after the update.

Anyone have the SIB for the PROGMAN v28 that outlines the fixes for iPod issues? I had my PROGMAN updated back in September with v27 and it semi fixed most of the problems with the 6FL option but it still has quite a few bugs. I want to know if v28 has any additional fixes to the 6FL option. I love the iPod option but all these bugs and glitches drive me nuts.

Can't find anything on the Progman 28. Is this really real, or is 27.02 the latest one.

As of a few weeks ago, 27.02 is the latest. My friend has it and it fixed his iPod/FM issue.
